I have sinned and not spent as much time on the threads as I would like, But I keep seeing folks talking about DB's for our team. I think an Impact player linebacker is what we need most for defense. Every great defense has at least one impact linebacker.
I am not busting on the guys we have, I am just saying I havent seen that explosive hit or timely interception, or even timely sack by one of our backers that changes the game to our favor. It looks like Hartwell for the Ravens will be on the list this year, and he did a fantastic job when Ray Lewis was injured. Now I know the Ravens have Mccalister and Reed, But I still stand by my ipinion that we really need an impact linebacker to improve on D. Any other linebackers out there worth mentioning? :D |

I haven\'t studied who is available in FA or in the draft much. I was spooked by Hartwell when I read he doesn\'t have good sideline to sideline speed and not so hot dropping into coverage. But thats just one guys opinion. Sounds a lot like Ruff. Is he just a really good fit for a 3-4? I don\'t know. I do know that I\'d love it if we did sign him as well as a couple others.
It wouldn\'t hurt my feelings one bit if we signed a couple FA LB\'s and our 1st two draft picks were LB\'s. Thats how much I think that unit needs help. Allen-Good back-up, average starter Bockwoldt-7th round rookie. Watson-MLB of the future for this team. Hodge-gone Knight-done Ruff-gone Rodgers-done We have 3 LB\'s worth keeping, and two are questionable starters. If we don\'t have 4 new LB\'s going into next year we are in trouble. I believe the Ravens played in the 3-4 this season and it seemed Hartwell did ok in that. I also like K. Bell a lor, but his price tag is a bit hefty.

Will Wtherspoon would be a good one if we could talk him out of leaving Carolina cause I\'m sure4 they will want him back.
Tommy Polley could be another one we could use for the right price. Warrick Holdman I think we went after him a few years ago? |

i really think that we should get a MLB and move Courtney Watson to roam the strong side... it is hard to believe that Has-not, a former LB himself, has his cuppard empty as far as LB\'s are concerned.
