Last summer, the Saints headed to West Virginia with dreams of reaching the Super Bowl. They didn’t even make the playoffs. Now, after an offseason full of turnover, they begin training camp with new objectives, new faces ... and many questions.
-- IF Nick Toon, Seantavius Jones or Brandon Coleman emerge into viable playmakers, the Saints will have a solid corps of receivers who can help gloss over the losses of Jimmy Graham and Kenny Stills. Coach Sean Payton has been bullish about the potential of these players. You have to believe there’s a reason for that confidence. IF NOT, well ... it’s hard to imagine that everyone from this group will disappoint or fail to step up to the challenge. But if that happens, then it’s the doomsday scenario in which Drew Brees has few viable options and the offense will stall to some degree. -- IF Delvin Breaux is as good as advertised, then New Orleans might have pulled off one of the greater heists of the offseason by pulling the cornerback out of the CFL. His presence would give the Saints great depth at cornerback and a good amount of competition at this position. IF NOT, the Saints still have Keenan Lewis and Brandon Browner at the top of the depth chart, as well as rookies P.J. Williams and Damian Swann and last year’s second-round pick, Stanley Jean-Baptiste, at the position. There’s a good mix of players in there, but it’s better if Breaux lives up to the hype. Re: Camp 2015: Fortunes of the team lie among a series of what-ifs
Ok only thing i would add is this
If Ingram can stay healthy and prove, even with the time missed with injury, was not a fluke then the saints will be sitting pretty good IF NOT Then we find out if Robinson is the second coming of Curtis James Martin, Jr.. Which I have not seen to date. That leaves Spiller to do the between tackle run which if history holds up, he wont. Then once again it will all rest on Drew's arm each and every time he takes to the field. That is not what any NFL teams wants their QB to go through. Even the best ever fold under the pressure to score each and every play. Add in all the question marks at WR, on defense and this could turn into a long year. |

True, there are question marks this season. But no more than last year IMO.
Barring injury, this team has answered more of their questions than created new ones. |

I thought it was a decent article going into training camp. At least it's not another "Brees in decline" or "How will the Saints recover from losing Graham".
Put that in bold because we dealt Graham for upgrades on offense AND defense. |

Re: Camp 2015: Fortunes of the team lie among a series of what-ifs
Back in 2009 the Saints didn't have any really great CB. Greer was really good but I think it would be a stretch to call him great. Tracy Porter had a good year, he was good for us but what has he done since?
I'm not really worried about our secondary since Dennis Allen is back. I think we will see a lot more production from both the S and CB positions this year. |
