Well using a 2nd round on a project is not as bad as using a 13th pick on a tackle that can't beat the competition and start week one only be a reserve instead, fantastic.

i disagree, strief is aging, and peat's gonna be just fine for us. him sitting a year is not a waste, especially if someone goes down

Tackles can be productive for up to a dozen years. Just beacuse Peat isn't ready to be an All-Pro with his first game doesn't mean that the pick is a waste.

Frankly, anything the Saints could do to move Bryce Harris is productive.

Streif and Armstrong have both been in and out over the last two years. Even if Peat isn't ready to start, having a tackle with the fundamentals that can be put in without too much of a dropoff while he gets a redshirt year to learn the particulars of the position really isn't a bad idea. Let's not forget the guy is switching ends of the line from college. That isn't a switch that happens instantly.

The current construction of the Saints starts with the O-line. Watching Brees get beat up last year was painful. And quite a bit of that happened when Strief and Armstrong were not available. The addition of Unger, the insertion of Lelito, and addint Peat as a backup for now greatly improves Brees chances of staying off his back.

That works for me.

this just takes the cake how can u fail at 13, its payton , scouts loomis and front office just blew there second draft to me.when I saw peat playing third team offense I wanted to just drop jaw.
