Joe Horn eyeing Marvin Harrision type money!
Well My opinion is more in line with LKelly67, while some of the other comments made me cringe with the thought of the loss of Joe Horn, But this can be a positive for the Saints, we Franchise Howard this year, Trade him, get Value, and then we have Deuce and Horn playing in contract years. History of the NFL shows contract Year veterans will likely perform better, I think Deuce is top priority, sign him lock him up, and we have the choice of franchising horn, Drafting a wide receiver next year, possibly trading Horn under Franchise tag, or letting him Play 1 more Year with us wich would Be in turn another contract year......

Joe Horn eyeing Marvin Harrision type money!
If ever there were a player who has demonstrated to be a distraction .... it would be Joe Horn.
Joe has publicly aired his dissatisfaction with the coaches and fans!! (for the record, I don\'t give a damn what Joe says!) But, Joe is a \"gamer\" who shows up to play every Sunday. And he plays through injury and does everything he can to help this team win on the field. It would be risky to cut Joe without having a \"proven\" number-one to fill his shoes. BUT, IMO, it would be even more risky to sign a 34 year old Joe Horn to a big long term contract. It could hurt in terms of filling other needs. Joe is not, and never has been, the caliber of receiver that Marvin Harrison is! If that\'s what Joe will demand (say it ain\'t so Joe!), then .... Joe\'s just going to have to test the free-agent market... |

Joe Horn eyeing Marvin Harrision type money!
What would it take to start from scratch?
LOL We could trade every player of value for a pick, and trade or release every other player, and take only Draft picks for this year and next... Keep every one on the roster that were picks in the last 2 drafts and beteh youngest team in the NFL... Let those players play together for about a year or 2 and we might have a superbowl caliber team.......LOL Do not take this seriously, but I do wish we could just keep the Players everyone agrees are good players and make the right amount of money for there skills/age, and just take young players from the Draft and FA and go from there......LOL Oh and By the way spend the best money to bring Randy Meuler back, and Hire The Best coaches available start fresh, change up the Uniform and Start buying our tickets to the Superbowl........ You\'re right, there is!!
It\'s BS like these statements that should make it clear to people what the intent of the poster is. First, Joe Horn didn\'t bach Haslett, he supported him. I think Horn is nuts to do so, but he did. He put the blame back on himself and his teammates and challenged them to live up to expectations. Second, how did he distract the team? Distract them from what? Playstation? Even if it were in-season, I\'ve never seen Horn take a shot at a teammate. Even when the rumors came out about the WRs talking smack about AB when they were watching film, Horn quickly tried to support Aaron. He\'s a distraction to fans, but I haven\'t seen anything to suggest that Horn\'s antics effect the team\'s concentration. I\'m sure Billy would never make a statement without some solid grounds though, so Bill, what are those grounds? LOL. |

Joe Horn eyeing Marvin Harrision type money!
Want me to dig up some old posts, WhoDat that will verify everything I\'m saying. Cause you will NEVER dig up any old posts where I said we should get rid of Horn or that I didn\'t like him!!
What Horn says doesn\'t bother me. I could care less. Unlike you (who flip-flops all over the place) I don\'t hang on every word Brooks or Horn says. There\'s no HATE here, my man!! It\'s clear to me that ya talk outta both sides of ya mouth.. :P So, Brooks should be cut for the comments he made but Joe is just being Joe?!?! Flippidy Flop, flipflop, what the hell are ya talking \'bout? Someone fill me in and help me make some sense of the WhoDat madness!! Balls in your court, WhoDat. |

\"Aaron is a talented player, but he doesn\'t take the blame if things go wrong and he is quick to shift the blame and that has caused some friction between himself and some of his teammates.\" -Mike Detillier http://saintsreport.com/showarticle....95890de65a3da8 1d702675af3703c&threadid=152688&postid=1440627 Both are egotistical, but only one is underhanded. Likewise, one goes to the Pro Bowl almost every year and has at least SOME basis for saying he\'s great... but I guess that none of that matters.
I don\'t think AB should be cut, period. I do think that the Saints should seek alternatives at the QB position. Why? B/c AB HAS NOT PRODUCED ON THE FIELD. He is inconsistent, and lacks skills I believe are important in a QB. Even his TEAMMATES joked about his inability to make reads when watching film. Bottom line, AB doesn\'t produce. Moreover, his attitude is relevant because of his position. QBs are generally leaders, and their relationship with the other offensive players (at least) is one of the most important in the game. AB himself has talked about \"fake love.\" He\'s been at heads with numerous players and simply doesn\'t seem to command respect from his teammates. Joe Horn, on the other hand, does produce, game in game out, year in year out. THAT is the biggest difference b/w Joe Horn and Aaron Brooks. Additionally, as a WR, I don\'t think Horn\'s leadership ability is as relevant as the QB\'s. You may disagree, but it\'s a valid point. Certainly there is at least some rationale behind my feelings. But I guess none of this really matters - b/c in a few posts, you\'ll be talking about agenda again. Hey, when you can\'t win discussing the issues, I guess it makes sense to fall back on \"agenda\" and \"personal grudge.\" Sure... [Edited on 16/2/2005 by WhoDat] |
