Re: Ingram, Ingram, Ingram

Ingram is a good football player.
But he just doesnt excite me.

I get much more pumped when Khiry Robinson gets the ball, and flies
around like he has icy hot in his jock.

It reminds me of a QB we had in the 80s named Dave Wilson. (not wade, Dave. Bum team.) D. Wilson had a classic build, good pedigree, Illinois, I think. Good mechanics. Probably a great student. Did everything right technically. He lines up behind center. 3 and out and not even a fight.

In steps Bobby Hebert for mop-up duty. Hebert runs around like he's starting a riot, fights his way into a pocket, stiff-arms a LB, runs some more. Throws a cannon shot across the field, to a guy he had no business throwing to. Guy accidently catches it. Scores. We go FREAKIN NUTS!
Saints lower the loss margin to 28.

All I ever hear from guys my age about Bobby is negative now, but you're lyin arses were booing Dave Wilson, and screaming for Hebert to start, just like I was, and when he got in--- we thought, for good reason, that we had a shot. I think he's great, and i dont give a damn what yall think.

Anyway, we like guys like Pierre Thomas, who FIGHT for it. Put the stupid Heisman Trophy in its case, your salary sheet in a desk, and let put the guys
on the field who want to play FOOTBALL.

Can anyone explain why we have C.J. Spiller on this team if Payton won't use him? It can't be that he really sees Ingram as a superior RB, can it?

I don't get it.

He's our SUPRISE player we only use in the wheel route in overtime.

On Ingram....
I don't think we utilize him well. If he wasn't on the team, I don't know who the leading receiver for this season would be.

It's like the Scott Shanle conundrum all over again.

Let anyone of our 3 running backs stay in the game for any length of time, heck even 1 series without substituting and you will see an improvement. All 3 will run hard and with purpose but can't blame any of them for not being able to build up any rhythm. Point the finger at the coaches for making the plays so obvious and taking them out after one play.

I just don't like his style, but the truth is no RB is doing well behind our line.

I think my hate for Ingram comes from letting Ivory go, still would like to see that guy in black and gold. Could have had Ivory, J.Bell and PT as a solid group for a few years.

When he was with the Saints, Ivory's problems weren't running the ball, he was fantastic. He averaged over 5 yards/carry in two of his 3 years.

His problem was that he missed 20 games over the last two seasons he was here.

.. and rightly so. You remember that play, I remember INTs and pick sixes in playoff games.

Spiller has had a series of injuries that prevented him from participating in the preseason and the first several games. He doesn't have the same level of familiarity of the playbook or audible system that the other backs have. You will notice that his reps are in situations where options are limited.
