If the offense was struggling and ranked at the bottom of the NFL (like our defense) I would be calling for Sean Payton to give up playcalling duties. When Rob struggled in his second year I was one of the first people to say he needs another year to prove himself based off how good he was his first year. We're now halfway through this year and I haven't seen much improvement. What's more concerning is that it doesn't appear to matter who's in the game, our defense just isn't playing well period. Blown coverages and wacky mistakes continue to happen. Don't get me wrong, the players share some of that blame but part of being a coach is knowing what your players are good at and what they're not and scheming around their talents. Rob doesn't appear to be doing that. I would be shocked if Rob is still the d coordinator coming out of the bye week. |
