Saints lose to Carolina and 4th in a row
The Carolina Panthers beat the Saints 41-38 on Sunday at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, overcoming a flurry of first-half turnovers with a steady and ultimately overpowering offensive attack.
The Panthers (12-0) officially clinched their third consecutive NFC South championship before the game, and the Saints (4-8) are on the verge of official elimination from the playoffs. The Panthers scored the winning touchdown with 1:05 left when Cam Newton hit Jerricho Cotchery in the back of the end zone.
