We need Defensive Linemen "."

Guys that can line up inside, set the edge, 3-4 DE, 4-3 DE or DT...

V-E-R-S-A-T-L-I-T-Y is the name of the game on defensive lines...

Big 6' 4", 5", 6" with solid bulk and weight between 315 to 330 lbs

Linemen who can jam two gaps, collapse the pocket, draw/occupy double teams while speedier linebackers blitz, stunt the passer...

That's why guys like Jarran Reed or Kevin Dodd or my under-the-radar guy BYU's Bronson Kaufusi are ideal and will quickly find a starting role on this defense...

It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

Both of the Alabama DT's are probably good fits for plugging the run. Neither are the next Warren Sapp, but both will probably have solid NFL careers.

1a vs 1b ... both A'Shawn Rob and J Reed are excellent run stoppers. I'd be elated with either.

Side note: Don't sleep on Vernon Butler though.

Kaufusi? Not only did he have a weak schedule, he had a 4.87 40-time. That's not a risk I want to take.

Very good against the run. I could see the Pats selecting him on day 2 of the draft. SLEEPER pick.

1-4 out of four in my review of DTs.

1.Jerran Reed
2.A'Shawn Robinson
3.Andrew Billings
4.Sheldon Rankins

Billings is bigger and stronger than the other three. But I also saw too much falling down. I just don't think he has the technique yet. Rankins? I just was not impressed. He could hold olinemen yes but his speed was not there in in-game action. I looked at Louiseville, FSU, and NCSU regarding him.

I'm re-reviewing DTs now and seeing them side by side, I actually like Reed more than Robinson. Reed is quicker, Reed pushed through better, Reed had more disruptive plays against Georgia and Clemson. I stand by my original opinion on Rankins.

Now 5-8 and overall rankings. The rest are round 3 or later and I expect one of these to fall.

1.Adolphus Washington
2.Vernon Butler
3.Austin Johnson
4.Kenny Clark

Washington had a tape of him finally on DB against MSU where he looked solid. He seemed to have drawn some double teams which held him back some. Butler's newest video against the other MSU was honestly not as good as the others. I was just not impressed. Clark and Johnson left the same impressions as before. I don't think any of these are better than the other four.

1.Reed
2.Robinson
3.Billings
4.Rankins
5.Washington
6.Butler
7.Johnson
8.Clark

I will do one more batch because I do not care for the last two on my list.
