Happy Draft Day everyone!! By this time tomorrow 80% of us will be disappointed. I'm just happy we'll be able to put the speculation to rest soon.

Sure would like to trade some assets as we did last season and pick up another 3-4-5 round pick(s)...

They're at least two mid round prospects who could have an immediate impact for us and develop into ProBowl starters within three years...

Im still of the opinion trading this years third and next years second to jump back into the 2nd this year and take another DT. There will be first round talent in the first half of the second round this year

Lee...

You're going to see third round tackles in the fifth round this year, not sure the bang will be worth the buck...

For me it's about investment vs snap count...

Just don't see drafting two-down run stuffers with a first or high second round pick...

For my money, I want a guy who can play three downs, run and pass...

Re: 2016 NFL Draft Prospect Thread ...............

Im simply think we currently have two starting DT on the books who are both FA next year. Jenkins has done notjing of note for me and Fairley could go either way (thougj i like the pick up) getting a pair of DT now gets them embedded while we have others for rotation and they are ready to go by next year.

As i have said before my knowledge is off tjis year having seen no college football ladt year

Anyway Bleachers Reports Matt Miller final mock

1. Paxton Lynch, QB Round 1, 12th pick
2. Maliek Collins, DL Round 2, 16th pick
3. Jordan Jenkins, DE Round 3, 15th pick
4. Cayleb Jones, WR Round 4, 14th pick
5. Roberto Aguayo, K Round 5, 13th pick
6. Kevon Seymour, CB Round 7, 16th pick

The Pick: QB Paxton Lynch, Memphis

When pick No. 12 comes up tonight, I will not be surprised if the New Orleans Saints have traded out of it. If they stay, Paxton Lynch does make sense for a team that’s reportedly tried to land Marcus Mariota and Jared Goff via trades up in the last two drafts.

Lynch is an exciting, big-armed athlete with the mobility to execute the roll-outs in Sean Payton’s scheme. He also has the arm to throw down the field and up the seam—something Drew Brees does very well. The knock on Lynch is that he’s not pro-ready, but in New Orleans he doesn’t have to be with Brees in place for at least 2016.

Sheldon Rankins has often been mocked here and could still be in play for the Saints if they decide to wait on a quarterback. A name to keep in mind, based on what a scout in New Orleans told me, is Ole Miss defensive tackle Robert Nkemdiche.

"Two receivers to the left, Garcon to the right. Manning in the shotgun, puts Collie in motion. Looks in his direction...it's picked off! It's picked off! It's Tracy Porter again! He's runnin' free! He's gonna go all the way!

Re: 2016 NFL Draft Prospect Thread ...............

If Paxton Lynch is the pick; I think he sits behind Drew this year and is the starter when Drew is not re-signed in 2017. That would give us 50 some-odd million in cap space...
