Don't think you hang it all on Jenkins, Rob Ryan lacked the organizational skills to install and run the defense, now you have Dennis Allen who's a 4-3 system guy and Jenkins is a poor fit and D.A. hasn't shown the creativeness to put together a plan with what he has, rather going out looking for pieces...

I can see the Saints trying to trade Spiller and possibly even Byrd before outright releasing them...

Should Keenan Lewis age, injuries continue to be an issue throughout offseason and training camp, Westbank could also be expendable if last seasons' draft picks progress...

It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

Actual if Jenkins has any hope of getting his career back on track it is in a 43. The 34 was joke once teams scout him up. He spent his whole time getting blocked into the concession stands. Foe a guy that size it is amazing how he got rage dolled and pancaked time and time again. He still has the same knock against him as when he came out of college. Poor game strength. I call it lazy. DA did a great job IMO. he along cost us from being in the top ten in the draft.

Trade Spiller and/or Byrd? I seriously doubt it. we over payed for both and nether has done squat since getting here. I just do not see anyone out there that stupid to repeat our mistake.

Well, the Saints did have him lose alot of bulk last season; it was yet another bad decision by the Saints to expend two draft picks to move up and grab a player that the Saints "had information was about to be taken", which is becoming a common theme for this front office...

Well some of those contracts have already been paid, and we'd be on the hook this season for the cap numbers...so a team, say a contender, in need of a RB or FS could be willing to acquire either for a Day 3 pick...

The New Orleans Saints will hold a rookie minicamp May 13-15 at the team practice facility in Metairie, the NFL announced Thursday.

The minicamp will be the first look at first-round drafted defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins and four other players selected in the 2016 NFL Draft, along with the 19 players signed as undrafted free agents.

The league had previously announced dates for OTA offseason workouts and the mandatory minicamp.

The Saints will hold OTA workouts May 24-26, May 31-June 2 and June 6-9, with the mandatory minicamp June 14-16.

The Saints began Phase 2 of the offseason workout program Monday. Phase 2 can include on-field workouts, individual player instruction and drills. Phase 1 began April 18 and could consist only of strength and conditioning activities.

Phase 3 of the offseason program consists of the 10 OTA workouts. None of those sessions will be open to the public, although handful will be open to media.

Note(s):
  • Saints will have to get down to ninety (90) players.
  • Saints may still bring in player(s) for tryouts.
  • Saints still have to sign their draft selections.

By all accounts Cameron Jordan is staying at weak side DE. We all kinda assumed he'd move back to the strong side but I haven't gotten that indication.

I'll try to find the link later but, prior to the draft in a Nola.com story, Payton had mentioned moving Kikaha back to a pure rusher role and getting Cam opposite him; that was my reference...
