Catch the HBO show Real Time Bill Maher this week , he has on the early segment of the show Jose Conseco .Conseco and Maher do a round or two on Conseco's new book and the subject of Ricky Williams comes up in connection to players and values .

Maher tries to portray Williams as some kind of role model because he values something other then money and fame .....

Maher must have missed the parts where Williams tried to keep the signing bonuses and even tried to play again to stop from returning the money ....

..actually, Maher uses RW a lot as an example, believe it or not... go figure

... obviously most of Maher\'s rants are exaggerated, however Maher has, in the past, brought one good point regarding RW\'s case, which is (I think) worthy of discussion:

the NFL has a ban on marihuana; players caught with traces of it in their system are subject to action by the league... yet the NFL has no issue with pumping your spine full of drugs and numbing agents so you can go out and play the game, even though these drugs and numbing agents are mostly morphin based. Of couse the difference between an epidural and plain shooting smack is that smack you shoot yourself, and an epidural costs $1,200 to have an anestesiologist do it to you...

Traced to the root of all evil , you will see the Feds get $$$ from the morphin based numbing agent and they would get nothing from a heavy toke of some home grown Mary Jane .

It pays to have a war on drugs .

Funny how they never have a war on Homelessness . It just does not pay .....
