Week 2-Cleveland, this is again on the offense, we had the ball and the chance to put the game away. Oline got Brees sacked on a big play. That Cleveland team ended up starting out 6-3.

Week 4-Defense was bad but offense didn't deliver either until it was too late. We held Bryant to 44 yards on top of it. Graham gave up on a pass that got picked when the saints were trying to get within 7.

Week 5-Again, Brees struggled early which led to the bucs nearly winning but somehow they tightened up in the second half and got to OT where we won.

Week 7-Had Brees not thrown that int, we don't lose that game.

Week 10-Again, this was a tight game, and the big fourth down play was what led to this loss. However, Graham really lost this game. And, Colston put a cap on it. This was the second OT this season he lost the game. But it was SF and we basically just allowed three more points in regulation compared to the season before.

Week 11-The offense did nothing this game. 27 points allowed does not happen without some offensive production.

Week 12-The defense lost this one here, yes.

Week 14-We never even put up a fight.

Week 16-Again, I already explained.

I'm not defending RR but I was more annoyed with the offense this year(and Graham) than I was the defense.
So we have the worst defense in the NFL and you find a way to put most of the losses on the offense...

You can't expect the offense to play a perfect game every week just to try and keep up/cover up for a poor defense.

"We lost that game because Brees threw a pick. Yeah, so what the defense gave up 42 pts, but remember the 1 interception Brees threw." lol....

WE WON 7 GAMES, AND ONE WAS GIVEN TO US...

I mean this is why we lost the division.

I don't care who your annoyed with, the defense was ranked 32.

You're right about the oline, however, especially at center, which was why we moved Jimmy and his huge contract for Max.

It was a mixture of things in '14, the oline and the defense, but the defense being 32 is a huge problem. That said you're right about the oline, I don't think anyone would say otherwise, I remember a sackless **** like Atlanta destroying Drew all game in the dome

Your team stinks

That's it. The oline had issues, no doubt, but being 32 is a problem...no way around it

Re: Rob Ryan: "I did a damn good job and got fired for it"

So I remember saying this on the other forum and it makes a lot of sense. Seattle got in our heads in 2013 and forced SP to try to implement a Seattle-style defense that RR was not accustomed to. That is losing your identity. The defense was not why we lost that game, we lost that game because we were in Seattle and we were in Seattle because they won 13 games that year. We needed to win three more games and we had a chance to do that but the offense gives the ball back to the team to to win two of them and the other we just struggled against a team who was undefeated at home.

To absolutely neglect the offense that season was no excuse. We could held on to what we had on defense and put our focus on oline and receiver that offseason. Would the defense have been as bad had we done that? I'm not sure. but at least we would not have struggled on the offensive side as well.

In 2013 the defense got the offense out of a lot of jams they go themselves into. That's the kind of defense I want, only better against the run.

Only in the first couple weeks and in Atlanta and against SF. Otherwise, we were dominant at home and lost our last three road games. I mean I don't know if that defense is coming back but the offense should not be in those situations to begin with, especially at home. Brown's problems did not cost us at home that year, but on the road it did.

I did say I want them to be better against the run. The season we lost those road games is because that defense was such a disaster against the run. The reason we beat Atlanta was because they had no run game. We beat SF because all they tried to do was run and Ryan put 8 men in the box. Kap couldn't capitalize. And the offense put themselves in those situations. Who is Brown?
