Thanks for the Sneed video. Better than watching Sneed was watching Brees. It's like watching a great artist paint. The receivers are his brushes. The field is his canvas.

Hand him almost any brush and he'll produce a masterpiece.

I pooped all over the idea of signing Greg Jennings a while back (can't remember if it was last year or the year before), when people were talking about wanting to bring him in as a veteran presence. I didn't believe he had any game left, and he has kind of proven that indeed he doesn't have much left.

Boldin has remained productive throughout his career, with some unspectacular QB's much of the time. This is one older player who can help.

Snead is the opposite wideout of Cooks. Boldin is a wideout, it would have to be Snead that loses the most snaps. Coleman was supposed to be the slot with Thomas. Snead can operate in the slot too. So really Snead and Thomas are looking at the kind of snaps Snead got last year. Coleman likely is a injury backup.

At the most I think rotating in & out with Snead between the slot and outside

Boldin is a receiver. He does not need to be pigeon holed as either a wideout or slot. He's a good route runner with elite hands, and is not particularly fast. He will get open wherever you put him, and he's generally going to work the intermediate routes regardless of where he lines up.

He'll move around much like all of the receivers do in the Saints' offense. Again, that means less playing time for Coleman, if he even makes the team, and who gets more playing time between Boldin and Thomas will be determined by how they perform in training camp.

Who knows, maybe Coleman improves dramatically and blows everyone away. The bottom line is that adding Boldin won't do anything but help, unlike a lot of other aging free agents who would just take up space.

If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.

So let's say Boldin DOES take snaps away from Snead. This is a team sport, and Boldin will only make the team better. We can't worry about how it's going to affect everyone else.

EDIT: Let'not use the initials "AB" to refer to Boldin LOL

Snead doesn't have a damn thing to worry about. He's had chemistry with Brees from day one. It's Brandon Coleman who needs to worry.

If he's open he'll get the ball.

A gun-empty set with Cooks, Fleener, Boldin, Michael Thomas and Snead would be pretty nice, and I'm sure Sean thinks so too.
