If it wasn't for Drew Brees we would be Cleveland. In the Payton and Loomis era they have not been able to field a respectable running game or defense year after year. What's the definition of insanity? Doing the same things expecting different results and those two are the poster child's for that. Who was the last 1000 yard rusher this team has had? It was deuce in 2006 that's just sad. Where has this top 5 offense got you in the last 10 years a 7-9 playoff record. 5 out of the last 10 years it's has gotten you a 8-8 record or worse. 3 of the last 4 years 7-9.

Yes they provided us a Superbowl but how long do you excuse the failures? Not mentions the controversies.
Like I said they have peaked time to move on face reality guys

Well let's see there was off the top of my head.
the Bountygate scandal
Vicodin fiasco
Aledged wire taping thing
Weather they are true or not this regime has been surrounded by tremulous events
In college the have lack of institutional control you could say this regime falls in that relm

Look I'm not saying it has been all bad but to sit here and think this regime should not be accountable for the crap they have done is wrong. I just ask how long is the head coach and GM going to receive a pass for underachieving. Payton is the highest paid coach in the NFL for what mediocrity. 5 winning seasons 4 losing seasons and 1 8-8 year come on how long does an Superbowl buy these guys.

After re-watching the game, pass protection wasn't that bad. Sure there were a few breakdowns, but the more I see it the more I am lead to believe the line needs time to gel. Houston has always had a stout defense and that starts with the front 7.

Players at the skilled positions made the true mistakes, from drops to fumbles and turnovers. Additionally the INT on Drew was BS, should have been a pass-interference call.

On the first drive alone you had 2 huge drops; both of which would have been first downs, Coleman's which would have had us in scoring position.

HOU and NE are both likely to win their divisions this year. Back away from the ledge.
I, for one, am not on any ledge. But do I think the line sucks? Abso-freaking-lutely.

I watched the replay, too. Protection was just as bad as ever, and so was the run game. And being that it IS pre-season, defenses aren't exactly firing away out there. Plus, there was no JJ Watt.

I'm all for giving guys time to gel, but this is the same group from last year. How long does it take to gel? I think the defense will be improved, and depending on how far the pass rush has come (of which, there is no true barometer until the real season starts) they could even be vastly improved. But on offense, everything hinges on that O-line, and nothing is indicating to me that it is heading in the right direction.

If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.

Methinks it's safe to say they'll be no kicking of the Championship "Tyers" or 105 Octane "Petrol" in "Ye Old Tank" this year!!!

The offense has been perennial Top 5 since Payton took over. And now you want to clean house. lol

Im not worried about the record or offensive rank since SP took over. I worried about the past 2 years and this one creeping up on us. If this is another losing season I agree we need to clean house. And that means Drew as well. Franchise him and trade him for picks to a team that can afford the deal he wants. Losing season in 2016, time to start over. A top 3 QB is not worth having if the rest of your team ranks last.

Thank god you aren't in any position of power in the Saints' organization.

Re: NO SUGAR-COATING IT: Saints O-Line is TERRIBLE

Making everything work is a whole lot more complicated than we think.
Individual performances weaved into a team effort on a budget - weekly.
Payton has had a revolving door trying to find someone who can do what he does on offense with a defense.
It's just not easy.
I'm concerned about what I've seen so far too.
But I'm nowhere close to demolishing and rebuilding.
I've seen some ugly football. And this is nowhere close to that. Not by a long shot.
