Re: TRADE BREE's
When is the next time we are going to have a great QB? It took us 40 years to get Brees. Once he's gone there will be 3-4 years of trial and error Qbs before we will have time to really evaluate their potential. If it doesn't work by that time you will have a host of other players to pay.

Why now that the defense is at least showing some signs of life, would you want to get rid of the one player that is making the Saints relevant? Do the Saints have issues that need be and should have already been addressed? Absolutely! So do 31 other teams, but I doubt you will find many posts from fans calling for the team to clean house! Brees is not the reason the Saints are in cap hell, or the defense has sucked for several years! |

Re: TRADE BREES
We can win it all this year with Brees.
We can't without him. He's got 2 or 3 good years left. Stop, please just stop. |

Re: TRADE BREES
If we traded Brees I'd put my montly wage on us getting the first pick in 2017 draft.
Would be an idiotic decision, no way is Grayson ready and McCown is serviceable at best. |

Re: TRADE BREES
The part about throwing the season away... it is sort of the point.
This team is floundering in mediocrity. A sinking ship if you will. The one way to right the ship is jettison what we have and rebuild. It is going to happen sooner or later why not stop wasting out time with the same 8-8 and 7-9 if we are lucky this season. Why not cut bait and start rebuilding. I know it is to late in the off season now but there are some opportunities out there to begin. I have the feeling that won't even happen this off season coming up. I am just wondering why the rebuilding hasn't begun yet! |

Re: TRADE BREES
A couple of things...
One, would Payton stick around without Brees or a franchise quarterback? Probably not, as Payton wouldn't want his "stock" to take a hit... Two, Brees is contracted to the end of the season at a cap cost to the Saints of $30 mil and then he's a free agent after the end of season? Who'd make that trade? - maybe the Broncos, and they'd likely be in the Final Four of the tournament, so you're gonna get, what?!? A first round pick at the end of the draft? There's only one sensible course of action at this point, play out the season with Brees, scouting his level of play charting any possible decline in play and make an informed decision, course of action at that point... |
It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

As far as cutting bait, didn't we get rid of Rob & #39? |

Re: TRADE BREES
I would let him play out the season. We have already paid fot it. The O-line being as it is he'll be lucky to make the season and if he does I don't think we resign him anyway. As for Payton, a losing season drops his stock as a HC but he is still one of the top OC's in the buisness. I don't think he would be out of work unless he wanted to. So far McCarthy in GB has done alot better than Payton(it really pains me to say that) maybe GB"s FO is better than ours from top to bottom. They at least show they are thats even trading Favre away.
