I'm convinced that if we just had an ordinary amount of injuries we'd be 3-1, maybe 4-0 at the break.

I doubt any team has suffered even half of the key injuries that we have.

Surely Payton needs to recognise this, Strength and conditioning has been lackluster for years and he just brushes it under the carpet.

I don't know what the reason is, but excessive injuries continue to happen to us year after year.

Every team has a few, but damn we seem to have a ton more than others.

Breaux
PJWilliams
Vaccaro
Ellerbe
Davison
Armstead
Snead

Hooman
Lewis
Swann
Wilson
Kikaha
Rankins
Sanford
Hill

When Payton came back from his suspension and had lost weight, didn't he say he had brought crossfit in with him?

I'm no gym rat, but I've heard crossfit is complete nonsense, if Payton is making our players do that in the weight room then no wonder they are getting injured.

San Diego has 15 players on IR. Blatimore has 11 on IR.

People all the time say that preseason doesn't matter

Two winless preseasons and we are showing no signs of improving in the regular season.

We are not a tough team and we are undisciplined, the cut back lane was wide open last night, Freeman only had to cut back and he had atleast 25 yards if not more.

Kind of surprised no one is really bashing the special teams play over the last 3 weeks.

Miscues in Oakland (missed FG/giving them a short field & score), miscues in NY (blocked fg attempt and subsequent TD by the Giants) & Atlanta (Harris collides with TommyLee resulting in a turnover & momentum shift).

Poor special teams & mental breakdowns have cost us dearly ... hence 0-3.

Its definitely part of the problem but we are screwed because we can't overcome 1 mistake in a game.

Were they all starters?

Baltimore, same starting 11 on defense since week 1.

Never specified what side they play on. You said you doubt any teams have as many significant players hurt as us. Thats false. I didnt even mention Vikings. Imagine if we lost Brees and Ingram for the year.

Saints have 13 on IR. Of that 8 are defensive players. Of that 5 are starters. Breaux, PJ Williams, Swann, Kikaha and Rankins. I am counting Breux as being on IR cause he would be if not for putting Rankins on it and us wanting both of them to be back this year.

There are so many moving parts to this organization it's hard to put my finger on where we need improvement. Coach Payton is still my man! We all know who the position coaches that need to go to help him. It wouldn't hurt if we could field at least half the team.

Payton will stay but he needs to let Vitt and Johnson go and I don't know if he is willing to do that. It may be his downfall just like Mora with Carl Smith.
Defensive line is still undisciplined. Even Jordan gave up containment to of all people Shatty Ice. Anthony (who I like) was out of position so many times it was ridiculous. All of our LB's think it is more important to engage with blockers than to flow to the ball. That's a bad scheme in my opinion. Look at the pick 6 Jones had. He was just flowing towards the ball because he sure wasn't covering anyone. Besides Brees should've hit Cooks who was wide open instead of forcing it to Thomas. We need changes to coaching the front 7 that's for sure. DB's except for Byrd are playing well considering their experience.

Because Sean took over a complete disaster of a team and drug his family into a hell hole that most can't even imagine. He got us a Lombardi, something that I NEVER thought would happen, and he got screwed big time by Goodell for our so called "Bounty" system. That alone set this franchise back a couple of years. Is he without fault? No, but as long as we have him and Drew together we have a chance.

Some of the injuries we've sustained might be because of conditioning issues, but you can't blame broken bones, concussions or sprains on lack of exercise.

I do think that some of the position coaches need to be shown the door.
Loomis should also be given a hard look for these F/A disasters that we seem to keep getting ourselves into but not Payton. He has no choice but to start guy's that would otherwise have seen limited time on the field.

Payton is the reason Loomis signs anyone. How many times does that need to be said?

Just FYI, as we've had trouble at CB for as long as I can remember now, the player Sean Payton passed on to draft Andrus Peat.....you know....the guy who won defensive rookie of the year last season, yeah he's leading the league in picks once again.

How do you pick Andrus Peat over Marcus Peters? Especially how badly we needed a corner that year and now.

Peters had some serious baggage, but I agree.

I don't have a problem with the position we picked, we need a RT, but it appears we picked a dud.

If we don't spend every 2017 pick (and free-agents) on front 7 and O-line, the entire staff should be fired.

I think SP is safe.

Until Benson kicks the bucket.
