A couple of thoughts...

Daeshon Hall takes too many plays off and what numbers he had were benefit of playing opposite Myles Garrett...

Jordan Willis currently has a third round grade because he needs to add another twenty pounds to be a 3 down DE...

If Tanoh Kpassagnon plays well against the comp, I think he moves into the second round and is definitely a target for us...

Dalvin Tomlinson? are we going back to a 3-4? Think Akiem Hicks type; but, how good is he without talent around him?

Anzalone definitely checks the boxes, except one, can he stay healthy? Ellerbe should teach us that concern...

Ben Boulware is a fighter, really like the kid; but he's a two down back with athletic limitations for the NFL...

One of the defensive backs that you should highlight and watch is Damontae Kazee of San Diego St - some scouts think if all breaks his way, he could jump into the second round...

Re: 2017 draft prospects thread

I look within our division and size for CB is #1. Damontae Kazee at 5102 needs some serious hops and long arms to defend the WR in our division.

Saints are loaded with talented short CB

Saints must get bigger at the second level

Daeshon Hall, DE, Texas A&M 6052 260 4.78 #10 Sr
inconsistent in pass-rush production. ? injury history is more a curiosity at this point. When he was the man he put up a seriously good performance. Which brings me right back to what you said. Where was he before? Shoulder injury worse me.

Dalvin Tomlinson DT Alabama 6022 305 5.14 #54 rSr
An underrated key reserve steadying force along the defensive front Flexibility, toughness and explosiveness, good run stuffer with some pass rush skills as a passes defense knows how to get his hands up and knocked down passes. He’s not going to give you much as a pass rusher due to his limited athleticism and range, but Tomlinson can two-gap effectively and hold the point of attack against the run.

A later round sand in the pants developmental NT/DT to keep an eye on is

Ralph Green III DT Indiana 6036 320 5.14 #93 rSr
a lot of ability and offers a good degree of upside potential

Tell me what we are doing at ILB grrr till then any and all options are on the board

Tanoh Kpassagnon DE Villanova 6062 278 4.87 #92 Sr

raw, but that the skill set is there with a lot of upside to develop. five-technique defensive end in a 3-4 defense? exposed Bama OT Robinson to be the mediocre tackle prospect he really is. outside bend, quickness, quick hands, and finishing ability. Special teams demon in the middle of the line?

Jordan Sterns SS/FS Oklahoma State 6002 200 4.55 Sr
Want a safety that not only plays the run well but has solid ball hawking skill set?

This sounds really freaking good... courtesy of

DE, Tanoh Kpassagnon

Kpassagnon has been “my guy” ever since another writer here at CSC and I stumbled upon his film during a study session. I wanted to wait until I saw him in person to decide if what I had thought before was true. My conclusion: He is the real deal.

Measuring in at over 6’6 and 280 lbs Kpassagnon looks like he was built out of granite. Lining up primarily as a wide 9 or 6/7 on the weak side (pass rushing side), Kpassagnon spent the day going against one of the highest rated OL in the draft in Forrest Lamp. Showing great bend considering his size, he was able to get under the much shorter Lamp (6’3) to get strong leverage more plays than not.

His most impressive play of the day also comes with video footage. From the defensive end position in this drill, he drives back Lamp and tosses him to the side like a rag doll. Tanoh still is a raw talent. He has the athletic and physical ability to put himself on the same level as the 1st round grades in this draft. The catch is he is still very raw.

Going to school at Villanova means this is one of the first looks anyone is getting to see of him going against higher talent tackles. As of the first day, he’s catching a lot of eyes. Several teams interviewed him today, following his performance.

I'd be more impressed if it wasn't coming from CSC.

Re: 2017 draft prospects thread

I fully believe after the senior bowl, Tanoh Kpassagnon wont get out of the 2nd round. one of his 1on1's against Lamp was nasty. He's making himself some money this week & is definitely a day two target for me. I wouldnt be surprised if someone pulled the trigger at the end of the 1st...pass rusher is always in high demand and it doesnt hurt when you're 6'7/290lbs

Not to bash Kpassagnon but that play is just as much Lamp putting himself in a very bad position. He opens his hips too much and plays high, at the end his feet stops and he leans forward and that is when Kpassagnon tosses him It does not take much effort at that time.

Kpassagnon sounds French.....so there's that. And he looked pretty darn good at the first couple of practices. I can't wait to see more of him on film.

At this point, I don't care if his name is Buddha Jones, can he put the quarterback on his back and set the edge?

This is my favorite prospect for the Saints this year and is currently slotted to be there when we pick in the second round...
