And we just cut DT Mabry.

I smell something happening!

Schwartz? Leary?

Anyone named OG?

Just got the report he wants 4 years/$100 million. He can go. I'm fine tanking for Deshaun Watson. I'm tired of the salary cap being held hostage.

Edit Post:

AsylumGuido proved me wrong.

Chris and Major have been talking former All-Pro G Louis Vasquez...

Chris posted the LaCanfora tweet earlier...

The term/money demand was reported by Yahoo! Sports back in June...

Schwartz, Vasquez or possibly John Greco ... it appears the Browns are all in on the youth movement.

Since the Eagles are in a trading/dealing mood, I try to see what G/T Matt Tobin would cost us?

We made a trade back in 2006 on the eve of the season with the Eagles before...

Browns signed these?

So we will pay Brees $25 mil a year? Yeah it's been fun Drew but time to go to a team that can afford that and contend both.

You have got to be kidding. Four years/$100 million is nothing with the ongoing cap situation. In year three he will be in the bottom half of NFL QB pay.

You honestly have no clue. Amazing. :dunce:

I dont care if its 4 years 100ml. What i care about is the guarantee. 4 years-100ml-50 guarantee.

Im all in.
4×100×60 is the limit for me though. Thats 2 years guaranteed with a third year option on 10ml dead money.

Personally i think paying it outright with no signing bonus is best

Agree, thats a bargain and thats just Brees' starting point. It's likely to be bargained down some.

I'b be very happy with 4 years, 100 million.

The way we backload contracts he'll probably be playing for cheap this year and next year with a crazy cap number in years 3 and 4.

And there's nothing wrong with that. The cap is projected to be at $180 million in 2019. It is stupid to not backload contracts in today's world of ever increasing cap.

True enough. In hindsight, you're probably right. I still want Watson though.

Surprisingly, your limit isn't relevant to real world negotiating.

Re: Saints & Brees re-start contract negotiations

Yes look at how crazy Drew is:

Colts QB Andrew Luck: $24.6 million
Ravens QB Joe Flacco: $22.1 million
Packers QB Aaron Rodgers: $22 million
Seahawks QB Russell Wilson: $21.9 million
Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger: $21.85 million
Giants QB Eli Manning: $21 million
Chargers QB Philip Rivers: $20.81 million
Panthers QB Cam Newton: $20.76 million
Falcons QB Matt Ryan: $20.75 million
Patriots QB Tom Brady: $20.5 million

Drew is going to sign and you guys think we might be eyeing a guard too then?

Re: Saints & Brees re-start contract negotiations

If the cap is $60 million, $25 million per year is almost 42 percent of the total salary cap. You want Brees having 42 percent of our salary cap? When we pay Cooks that with Armstead will equate up to over 70 percent of our cap. Players requesting higher money more than ever. Damon Harrison got paid big and he was not exactly a leading team defender. Furthermore in two years Brees, Cooks, and Armstead will combine for nearly $45 million.

when was the cap 60 million 40 years ago?

The cap is like 155 or 160 million, Guido, what's the cap right now?

No idea what you're talking about, but you ignoring me by no means scares me

Here is a website to show you the cap:

New Orleans Saints Salary Cap - Over the Cap

It is a little more than 155 million this year

I dont know why you thinks its your job to act the way you do on here, like you are some sort of true fan as only you see whats right, only you support the team because you blindly follow what the front office did.

I though the idea of posting on a fans forum was to give your opinion and discuss things with other fans not to talk down to others who have a difference of opinion. Either give me the respect to discuss things with me properly or stick m on ignore.

Nowhere did i say it did. Its pretty obvious its a opinion
Wether we like it or not he could fall off a cliff in three years and nobody wants to be on the hook for 50ml.

QBs like Brees are rare. Very rare. We sign him if we can. Period. Make it happen Loomie, then lets go and get us a guard (or two) and dare I say (dare! dare!) another pass rusher or CB?

You didn't say you thought "their" limit should be $50M. You said that "your" limit would be $50M, which I correctly pointed out had no relevance to those actually involved.

Re: Saints & Brees re-start contract negotiations

What was Brees annual cap number before this?

There's history against one era teams with one SB/elite playoff run. Just saying. We better be good beyond Brees whenever that is or we will only stay with our one ring.
