this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Remember Chase Daniel, he would always light teams up in preseason! Good times! A lot of us said Grayson was a wasted pick, especially when we desperately needed defensive help....

So much for the "pick the best available athlete" draft philosophy.

Wasted pick? A team should draft a QB every year as far as I'm concerned. Only one out of ten can cut it as a backup and maybe one out of twenty as a starter. Hell, a good average per seven draft picks is to have four make it past a couple of years. The most successful franchises strike out almost as often as getting a hit in the rookie draft.

I never said he was a wasted pick, but I always said he would never replace Brees as a Saints starter. Decent backup QB's are hard to find. You should draft one almost every year.

Chase Daniel is getting paid $7M per year holding a clipboard. He is one of the more successful backups the Saints have ever had.
