this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Another positive... I'm in the "Don't kid yourself, Drew, aging is about to bite you in your arse" group and didn't think a long term contract was wise... That said, I thought he threw the long ball better , yes ...

Another positive...
I'm in the "Don't kid yourself, Drew, aging is about to bite you in your arse" group and didn't think a long term contract was wise... That said, I thought he threw the long ball better, yes I said "better" than he has in two years... And that first touchdown throw to Cooks, threading three defenders, was pretty ******* impressive... So "Hats Off" to Brees on an outstanding day, even if he did look a little rusty/gun shy out the gate... |

Re: What went right Sunday...
The fact that Brandin Cooks is soon to be 23 years old and in my biased opinion is quickly becoming one of the best WR's in the league.
The guy isn't just a deep threat, he has great hands and catches a slant just as well as a 60 yard pass. |

Re: What went right Sunday...
I do think there is a massive case to be made that Pete Carmichael keeps the playcalling duties. Didn't think id ever be saying that but that offense looked good. The only criticism was that they should have been clock chewing and riding Ingram to the win late on but that wouldn't have been different had Payton been calling the plays. Its just the way they are.Best the offense has looked in a long time(well at least through three quarters). Still blaming Fleener inability to catch costing us points late

Re: What went right Sunday...
Not sure Brees will trust him in the redzone. He drops the ball when unchallenged.
If im Drew im going to Snead again and again. The msn makes plays and has great hands |

Re: What went right Sunday...
Brees' accuracy was sick
that first td to Cooks he hit a very narrow window the 98 yard bomb he hit Brandin perfectly in stride Jari Evans was seamless coming into the lineup The left side was awesome in the run game and Ingram hit a few nice runs Cadet and Murphy didn't show much Byrd was clueless out there, always out of position three quarters of D with Breaux out there and that was with 4 seconds + of time for Carr to throw behind a decimated line no less. ugghh |
