Then we '10 and especially '11 were good seasons, at least in terms of wins. Then the bounty gate and '12 season, but '13 we went back to the playoffs and won a game. The reason you think it is different is probably because this could be our 3rd straight losing season under SP and 4rth of last 5, and people feel like there is no direction with this team and we just keep cutting guys. Go back to the Haslett days and there was a hefty amount of *****ing. Know what, most seasons were like what Sean has been feeding us recently.

I migrated over, like many of us, from that hell hole, SR, which I joined in 1995. And, yes, there has always, and always will be, a degree of *****ing. When winning seven games is considered great there is *****ing when you win less. What we have now is leaps and bounds greater than what we have had since the early 90's.

What dead money? $5.6 million in dead money next season. That's among the lowest in the league.

You've hardly debated any points just spoke down to people who dont see sparkles on everything.

Im not here to get into arguments with people but ill put my point out whether its positive or negative as i feel it is. Fan boards are there to talk about the team, vent frustrations and celebrate victories together. Three years of pretty much .500 isnt good enough. The fact the team was terrible for a long time and would have been happy with that record means nothing. I dont have links to the city and no more than half a dozen people would know if up and went to another team. It'll never happen though, ill be there even if its 1-52 in the next few years.

But if i feel the need to vent frustrations and seeing the same issues for three years being repeated over and over i will do so.

You might find you win more people over if you debated some of the points brought up than just talked to people like they're stupid. Every person that ppsts here wants the team to do well. They can all see the bright spots but seeing the same **** and throwing games away for three years will bring out peoples frustrations. Had Sundays game come on the back of a 11-5 season people would be more forgiving than they are. Seeing the defense collapse and offense not kill the game and throw away a lead makes people crystals ball start showing the 2014/15 seasons over again.

Now lets just f*** last week off and get ready for next week

Bull****. I have debated and and posted fact after fact that have blown their *****ing points out of the water but they ignore FACTS and keep *****ing. Constant *****ing. Nonstop *****ing. Incessant *****ing.

And once again, *****ing about something totally meaningless just for the sake of *****ing.

You don't get it perhaps just perhaps that's why this team isn't very good defensively and have to rely on undrafted cbs and ageing veterans

No, I get the fact that our two of our top defensive draft choices who were both poised to have a huge impact both went down with injuries. And I get the fact that our best free agent CB (Lewis) blew out a knee and left a huge unexpected hole in the roster. And I get the fact that our top remaining CB broke a femur and was forced to leave a game in which he would probably have made a huge difference. Every team misses on free agents. Couple that with the key injuries we have faced and many would give up. I am not. This team can still win and I believe in them.

*****ing about things will not make them better, even if they did exist. Can we please stop the *****ing and just pull for our team to win? Or is *****ing simply too important to you?

I do pull for them to win every week like I said in one of my threads I want them to win every game but I know the can't but in my perfect world its what I want them to win every week every single one. Just like everyone else here. However when your front office is cutting their nose off their face with bad moves its tough to be the positive Pete and nor question things they do at times

It's not like they want the bad moves. They can't read the future. It doesn't do any of us fans any good to worry and stress over what has been or what could have been or what might be because they are all out of our control. The one single thing that is in our control is to pull for them like I know we can all do, win or lose, and leave all of those other matters that we cannot affect aside. THAT is something that we all CAN do.

The reason why people are complaining is we have had a taste of winning and we remember what it was like when we had bags over our heads and we don't want to Go back to that.I sure as heck don't.however if they did I'd still be here but I rather be a fan of a winning team its way more fun

We're together on that, for sure. But the complaining doesn't fix anything and gets in the way of enjoyment and that's what it is all about.

At this point, they should put the dead money figures up on the scoreboard along with the stats during the games every week. Or use the dead money players for the "Get loud!!!" or "Shhh! Offense At Work!" videos. Have dead money players compete in the Copeland's boat race or something. The team should get SOMETHING for their money, because this is getting ridiculous.

saintshrimp 09-13-2016 11:31 PM

Re: Saints Cut C.J. Spiller

See I don't see it as complaining but more of having discussion's about what we as fans feel we need to do to get the ball rolling in the right directions. I don't think anyone actually thinks they can do or say anything that will sway the team in changing anything its more about letting out frustrations or things they would like to see more or less of

How about one of those flasing highway signs on the roads that mickey and sean use to get to work reminding them of the deadmoney and failed free agents. Especially at the beginning of free agency. And at draft time pictures of failed draft picks.

Getting this back on the pavement. So why was he cut? He was healthy for once so that was not the reason. He must have went off on not getting touches.

Well that is the problem - It is Payton/Loomis that have dealt these hands to themselves; and I'll say what no one wants to: Because of the one Superbowl Victory in 50 years, they've been given immunity passes by Dennis Lauscha...

There's no way they still have jobs after the 2015 season if we're in New York, Chicago or Philadelphia...

I have faith in Payton as a coach, but not as a personnel man who has no one in the house to keep him in check or call him on questionable personnel moves, he should correct this system flaw and relinquish personnel oversight to Ireland and focus on game planning, game management...

Biggest issues are going back to draft management, lack of value on draft picks; especially this too often used practice of two picks to move up to grab players that have little to no impact on the team...

And while it's true they do an amazing last minute job to put something together (and it shouldn't come to that), but we should have been getting a *** D*mn pass rusher in free agency instead of Mullethead Fleener who drops the ball on THE pivotal third down play of the game...

Payton/Loomis have painted themselves into this corner...

jeanpierre 09-14-2016 02:05 AM

Re: Saints Cut C.J. Spiller

And another thing, if we've cleared out enough cap space with Brees' contract extension...

And, if we're now cutting useless player(s) who's limiting success of this team regardless of cap impact...

And, if we're gonna spend two draft picks to move up and grab a player that is highly valued...

Then, we should be willing to cut Byrd who's been rarely available and move on to the Vonn Bell era...

dizzle88 09-14-2016 05:06 AM

Re: Saints Cut C.J. Spiller

So, any reason as to why this has happened?

Payton should really do his homework before working to sign players.

Yeah Drew was the injured player that turned into a superstar, but after that we've signed Byrd and Spiller both injured. Byrd is flat out terrible and needs to be benched, Spiller never got a chance to prove he was healthy.

We literally have no direction, this team gives out big contracts and then gives up on that player the following season.

I say we keep a running total like they used to do for the national debt, that be kind of cool, lol

Something is seriously wrong with Payton/Loomis, this happens far too often.

I'm surprised that Byrd hasn't been released yet, he hasn't been near a pass since his time with Buffalo.

Pretty weird that things have ended so amicably. We've gotten used to players talking crap or wives trashing the team. Hats off to Spiller for being a class act! Hope he goes on to find success wherever he may land.

Zac? Strief? Hagan, granted he's not what he was two years ago, but he's still steady and going to provide a level of protection better than twenty other right tackles in the league...

And until we've got something better, Go get'em Strief!
