site question
Sorry it took me so long to answer this LK but yes there are that many lurkers out there. Why do they not post? I hope it\'s not for the reason I think it might be, maybe they\'re afraid they will be jumped on like a pack of dogs if members don\'t agree with them. Hell if that were true then no one would be able to post. I know I have said some dumb things on here. But me, I don\'t care. I\'ve been around this bunch for several years now and I ain\'t skeered. But, a good question anyway. Maybe since this came up some will start to post and tell us what they think about the Saints this offseason.

site question
As someone who has been a member of this site for about a year and read the site for 4 months prior, I might be able to shed some light on this, as I posted my first comment well into the 2004 season.
It took me about 6 months just to get a sense as to how informed the general \"population\" was. After that, it took two months just to figure out how I would interact with the various threads. Even then, I felt like I should be an \"informed\" poster, as opposed to a blithering \"sunshiner\" or \"moonshiner\", which required some knowledge. Most lurkers struggle with how to add to the discussion, and don\'t want to seem ignorant and/or naive. The rest just don\'t know how to argue their points, so don\'t bother posting. |

Good point Xan. Thanks for the insight. We also have some older members that for one reason or another just don\'t post anymore. I miss some of them. Lummox, where are you?

Hey Xan, blithering Sunshiners and Moonshiners, what the hell? I am proud of my heritage and look forward to a very exciting year of intellectual banter with everyone, but frankly,
I JUST WANT THE TEAM TO WIN, I\'ll be watching you Xan, because I think we have a closet Sunshiner in our midst. :soleil: |

LummOx, I\'m glad to hear from you. I hope to see some thoughts soon. You are actually one of the guys (along with Billy and WhoDat, among others like Pak and BnB) who really made me want to join the board back when I first did.
Another thing about the online member list is this: since I don\'t log off and leave my PC on all day, I remain on the list even when I\'m away from my computer for long periods of time. So, it is possible that some of those people didn\'t log off and haven\'t even come by the site in days (so long as the don\'t shut down their computer). My evidence for this is that if I log on elsewhere as a guest, it still says I\'m online. [Edited on 10/3/2005 by JKool] |
