Jamison Hensley, of the Baltimore Sun, reports a league source has said the Baltimore Ravens are actively shopping LB Peter Boulware (toe) around the league, but general manager Ozzie Newsome denied the club is attempting to trade the veteran linebacker. Boulware is currently still rehabbing from toe surgery.

Pat Yasinskas, of the Charlotte Observer, reports free agent LB Mark Fields (Hodgkin\'s disease) wants to wait until he receives a clean bill of health before re-signing with the Carolina Panthers this offseason. According to his agent, Jim Steiner, Fields will wait until May to sign a three-year deal. \"Before (Fields) makes a commitment to the club, he wants to take the necessary steps to ensure that he can fulfill the three year term and play at a Pro-Bowl level,\" Steiner said. \"Therefore, by the first week in May, Mark anticipates completing all of his regularly scheduled tests and annual follow-up care related to his previous health condition.\" Fields missed the entire 2003 season while battling Hodgkin\'s disease.

I love Boulware(a FSU alum) but I do not think he is the type of LB we need. He does provide the range from sideline to sideline when hes healthy but he has problems shedding the block at the point of attach in the running game. So unless Venturi wants to take the route of more blitzing from the Will LB spot, I dont see Boulware as a great addition.
