Need the o and the d to play good together for once

It's just gonna be that kind of season again folks. Last week we would've won if Breaux didn't get hurt and today I'm sure we would've pulled out the win if Williams didn't get hurt. We're just not gonna get those lucky breaks.

Need tampa to lose and for us to beat falcons next week, then it is not so bad

Chris, I gotta disagree with you there. Yeah, maybe PJ makes that play, maybe he doesn't...

This game came down to a failure to convert 3rd downs specifically with Fleener and Coleman failing to take advantage of their size mismatch...

Our young secondary did enough to win...

Re: Game Day: New Orleans Saints @ New York G'nats

Great effort by the defense today. It's unfortunate they couldn't close the deal but this loss is on the offense and special teams.

Fleener is just terrible. Wonder if we could get Jimmy back for like a 7th rounder, I feel like Seattle wants him gone and coming back here I think could revitalize his career.

Also, I thought that drop on 2nd down by Cadet was one of the biggest plays of the game. Put us in 3rd and long and ultimately had to give NY the ball with a lot of time left. Cadet has had a couple drops this year which is not ok considering that's his job on this team.

Another thing, our FG kicking is horrible. Every kick is coming out low or we're allowing too much of a push. Totally inexcusable for an NFL team to struggle this much on FG's.

One last thing we need to improve in; rushing the passer. Our front 4 continues to get zero pressure on the QB. Hats off to the secondary and linebackers for performing as well as they did.

Yes. These corners are UDFAs. Can't play much better.

We kept cadet over spiller for that type of performance? I think spiller makes those catches

This Lutz guy maybe has strong leg but he lacks fundamentals. Has to be more alert. Defense has all the time in the world to block the kick.

Chances of making the playoffs starting 0-2-----------------12%.

Offense lost this one.

I blame the line fkr that
There was no reaction from the at the snap. Its like they thought the Giants would make a feeble attempt like a extra point attempt

should be 2-0...that's the real kicker, and when you start talking about what you should be verse you are you're just not a good team yet. That said, we are heading in the right direction. if tampa loses we are only one game out in the division.

dizzle88 09-18-2016 03:43 PM

Re: Game Day: New Orleans Saints @ New York G'nats

It's Payton's job to get them playing and the offense looked like **** for 3 quarters, another 0-2 start and I'm really getting tired of Payton.

Re: Game Day: New Orleans Saints @ New York G'nats

Well... It's a small sample size, but so far the offense is jekyll and hyde. Again.

The defense gave up it's share of big passing plays, but after all these injuries I can't really be that mad. And ultimately they kept the Giants from scoring much of the game. The pass rush was only there temporarily, which is an improvement from last week, but still not good enough. The run defense was great, though.

This one's all on the offense. Barely any running game, too many throws short of the marker on third downs, and some awful drops at bad times. There didn't seem to be a sense of urgency until the last couple of possessions, but then they didn't finish and just asked way too much of that defense, especially considering their injuries.

Also, Lutz has to get the ball up. He had one tipped last week and this time he wasn't so lucky and it cost us dearly.

Re: Game Day: New Orleans Saints @ New York G'nats

we are getting close...and if we can keep it from getting away from, like sitting at 2-4 after 6 games and then start getting healthy we could end up like 6-2 second half of season...we are getting better, but losing like this blows and we have to learn to win

dizzle88 09-18-2016 03:48 PM

Re: Game Day: New Orleans Saints @ New York G'nats

We don't have any direction at all.

We rush to the line when we don't need to, we could have slowed down our last drive and left minimal time on the clock but we kept throwing to fleener and coleman, awful decisions.

We need to run the ball more!!!

We said that about Oakland last week though...

We can't keep losing and saying nevermind that team is good, we need to beat good teams to have any chance of making it to the playoffs, if we are already trying to look ahead and find what team we can beat later on we might as well look towards next season.

I'm not sure how good they are yet, but there is never a good excuse for our offense to score less than 20 points. This is why I say we have a good offense, but not elite. The skill players are there, but they need to execute better, and the line has to do a better job. The line was surprisingly efficient last week, but they came back to earth on this day.

I still don't see why they went after Fleener. I wasn't expecting much, but you gotta make a play at some point.

dizzle88 09-18-2016 03:59 PM

Re: Game Day: New Orleans Saints @ New York G'nats

And in Sean Payton land, he'll let Fleener stick around and underperform

Whilst we had a finally healthy CJ Spiller and released him, cadet is working out well though.....not.

Who the hells we? I didn't say that...I don't think the Raiders are a bad team, average to above average, playoff team...maybe, but I didn't say that.

I didn't say never mind, lol. You're confusing the meaning of my comment. We need to win, but we're not there yet, but we are getting there. What I did say is if we can get to 2-4 through the first 6 we start to get healthy, we might end up going on a little role. It is possible..

Where's WillSaints81?

Sucks to be SPOT ON.

And as per :fanboy:, anyone not totally happy today, you can go support one of the other 31 teams in the League.

This is where we win-out and go 14-2.

You might not have said it, but a fair amount of people did. I'm with dizzle that we can't just keep saying we lost to a good team. I'm not even convinced the Raiders are all that good.

This isn't really directed at you, but it's just something that is being said, and I just don't really take much solace in any loss.

Re: Game Day: New Orleans Saints @ New York G'nats

Great teams find ways to win, we find ways to lose.

We had the raiders against the ropes and unravel in the 4th quarter
We forced 3 turnovers today and got zero points from them.

When our D plays bad our offense plays well, our offense struggled today and the D stepped up. We can never have any luck, it's heart breaking losing these type of games every week, we did it last year and I thought the team would be better this year but we aren't, we still aren't coached well, we rush to the line when we should be milking the clock.

Sean Payton has lost his nerve and is just continually hurting the team with awful decisions.

Three years in a row we have started 0-2, let that sink in.

It was a rough loss. Although I'm pissed we lost, I feel better about our team then I did last week. It's rare the offense stumbles.

What was the awful decision? Remember that Payton wasn't calling any plays.

Rushing to the line with 4 minutes to go, he should have told Carmichael or Brees to slow it down and run the ball, not continually target Fleener, Coleman and Cadet.

Signing Fleener and releasing Spiller, another two awful decisions by Payton.

Re: Game Day: New Orleans Saints @ New York G'nats

Do we need to introduce our offense to our defense so they'll know they are on the same team?

dizzle88 09-18-2016 04:30 PM

Re: Game Day: New Orleans Saints @ New York G'nats

Letting Ben Watson get away so we could sign Fleener, awful..awful decision making.

Giving a guy that can't catch when someone is within 10 yards of him a 36 million dollar contract...

Releasing Spiller was the ONLY option.

Spiller is much better than Cadet.

Yeah Cadet might know the playbook better than any RB on our team, that is worthless if you can't catch when the ball comes your way.
