Maybe being called out on national T.V., by name, might just be enough to light enough to light a fire under his a@@. I wouldn't hold my breath but at 0-3, and a defense held together with ace bandages and surgical tubing, wishful thinking is the best thing we've got going for us.

Laurenitis and Harper, two guys out there for "leadership" just look awful at times. Harper is playing because of injuries, but I know he was brought in as a veteran presence. That kind of thing has always irked me, for the very reason of what we saw last night. Leadership is great, but if you are a liability on the field you shouldn't be on the roster. That's why they created the idea of having assistant coaches. You can lead without getting in the way.

I see some young guys in the secondary getting burned, who at least show some competitiveness out there. That's all I ask. But we have vets who just flat out aren't getting it done.

I'd sure like to see more of Erik Harris...

I'd also like to see Brian Dixon brought onto the active roster so Del Breaux doesn't have to be on the kicking coverages...

Who would we cut? We're already thin just about everywhere.

I'll clarify my statement by saying I'd promoted Dixon before signing Webb...

Dixon was a standout on kickoff, punt coverage and we still have the same results in pass coverage because of an anemic pass rush...

True, every teams 5th CB and down are basically excel on special teams, and can spot play occasionally in a pinch.

Our 5th CB and down are being asked to start on gameday, with no depth behind them. It kills our starters AND it hurts special teams. These guys can play both all game every game.

I'd like to see Dixon back up as well. We can always play the roster shuffle

One major problem is that we have several players injured that are not on IR. You can't sign anyone to replace them without cutting someone.
