I\'d say you could come up with 6 names in the first 3 rounds you\'d like to have say from the 23rd on down? [Edited on 10/3/2005 by Euphoria] |

No doubt the draft is deep. But wasn\'t the draft a few years back with McNabb deep in QBs? Remember 1999? Tim Couch, Akili smith, Cade McNown, with donovan and Daunte. That was supposed to be the year to get a QB. Deepest class in years. 3 out of 5 busts. All first rounders. In the 2nd round you even had Shaun King. 3rd round Brock Huard. So out of 7 first day players at a \"deep\" position, 5 are doing diddly poo. It\'s still a gamble. But yes, this year\'s draft does APPEAR deeper than most, especially on defense.

I never said that draft McNabb draft was deep but most of those QB\'s are still in uniform though... unlike a Ryan Leaf. You are right there was a lot of talk back then about the QB position. This year\'s draft is different... there is lots of talent across the board at every position. I like the OL and D talent the most though, even at WR there are a few thats going to slip and be steals. 3 WR I like whom hardly get any mentioning.

Chris Henry? I like him. . But I dig what you are saying, I really do. But IMO, a team will give us a decent draft pick for Howard. We\'ll just have to wait and see.

I bet the Saints might have beeen trying to wait and let the F.A. pool on DE dwindle down ..then bust out with a guy like Howard...
His value right now is greater than it was 3 weeks ago..just out of lack of competition... |

I definitely agree with that. He was already the best DE going in, so with players like Carter and Hayward off the market, he has to be a guy teams are looking hard at.

Oh man if we were to acquire another first(Dallas), goodness we\'d be able to move up. DJ here we come! Wishful thinking, I\'ll settle for a 2nd rounder though :P
