This team is what it is.
We are all Saints fans and we all won today.
And so far as your holier than thou comment?
I'm just tired of reading threads nominally about Saints football that devolve into personal attacks on one another by the same members.
Over and over and over and over.........

Pardon me, but I had a difficult time deciphering that you were pointing out both sides. It read very much like an underhanded insult toward fans for just being realistic. Not even negative, just realistic. And THAT is what I get tired of seeing every thread turn into. I'm sick of personal attacks as well. And I don't consider your post to have been an attack. Those posts comes from other certain members.

But there are those who like to take a passive aggressive approach to criticizing people like me, which was how I interpreted your post. If you think I'm wrong, feel free to tell me I am. I just know that for every post I make that isn't viewed as positive, there is always a follow up telling me and others that we're never happy, or something along those lines. I am happy for the win. When I was a kid I didn't really analyze anything. Over the years I've found it difficult not to, when I've seen certain things play out over and over again.

If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.

Didn't see anything special from him yesterday, negative or positive. I'd say that's pretty good for a first game in the middle of the season.

You can't overlook just how bad it was that receivers were running completely unchecked, virtually the entire game. Or if you want, I guess you can. That's up to you.

Yes we won, and that's great. Everyone has given credit to the offense, and even to the D for at least managing to cause those turnovers. It's not an all or nothing mentality to say the defense played like garbage for most of the game.

Someone please show me where in the definition of being a fan that it says you have to act like a groupie and worship the team, heaping praise just for the sake of making people believe you are the biggest and greatest fan. And I'm not even saying that others can't be unrealistically positive. Just lay off on the holier than thou approach while you're doing it, please.
i could be way off, but it seemed like the gameplan was just terrible. whatever da's idea was did not translate to the game, at all. it was a really terrible exhibition, I am glad we won. BTW- the offense is frigan humming.

I am hoping that they guys just coming back get the timing etc downa nd it proves to be different going forward

For whatever reason we still have half the defense playing zone and the other half playing man coverage. Somewhere there is a communication problem and for the life of me I can't figure out why.

I'll have to re watch the game down in the trenches but someone posted their evaluation of Rankins (different site) :

-Pushed the pocket
-We rushed 4 a lot so there weren't many 1 on 1's for him to exploit
-was upset with himself he didn't grab the fumble
-Flashed a spin move/bull rush/hump move(kind of a straight arm)
-Think he got blanked out on the stat sheet
-Could see him giving the olinemen fits
-Kelly likes his QB to get the ball out quickly, wasn't a good game to see him flash
-Came out of the game healthy
- C+
-Played more than 10 snaps
-Didn't see the QB hit but that's good news

He's going to be a problem. He's got good footwork and the agility of an edge rusher in tight quarters but he got chipped or helped by another olineman rather often this game. One of his spin moves got him by the initial olineman only to see him get chipped by a second blocker. Few times his hump move allowed him to re-establish the LOS but the ball would come out quickly and negate his progress. As Lelito said...he can dent a pocket.

Will be easier to see him flash against pocket passers/ teams that utilize 5 and 7 step drops/ and when we 5man blitz a lot to get 1 on 1's

Sounds promising .

Re: Enter: Sheldon Rankins...

Here were the final snap counts per Jeff Duncan:

Rankins - 38 of 60 defensive snaps.
DBreaux - 43 of 60 defensive snaps.
