For whatever reason we still have half the defense playing zone and the other half playing man coverage. Somewhere there is a communication problem and for the life of me I can't figure out why.

Because DA knows in order to not get 50 points hung on us he has to disguise looks to cause confusion. The problem is that our defense is usually more confused than our opponents.

Here were the final snap counts per Jeff Duncan:

Rankins - 38 of 60 defensive snaps.
DBreaux - 43 of 60 defensive snaps.

Was at the game and made it a point to key in on him when he was in.

Overall, pass rush was there, but because of the bad coverage scheme people were running wide open. They never needed more that 3 secs to hit an open target. When coverage was decent the pocket collapsed. He also played well in the run.

He is going to be a stud, saw one double team that he pushed through and collapsed.

we blew some coverages , true can be fixed um maybe, vacaro has the ability its the smarts that bother me, its the same coverages that they are going after him , not only him i no but he needs to get after it in the film room i believe. to see why they keep picking on him, every time they had wide open back or reciever it was his guy in the replay, am i seeing things right?

You could be right but not knowing what coverage was called and what they were supposed to be playing is the question. Robertson admitted there were some mistakes in coverage but didn't say on who. He dropped in zone on those plays and Vaccaro looked like he was playing man or he just blew his assignment. Payton or Allen are the only ones who can say who messed up.

On that third-and-10 play, Rankins pushed left guard Zane Beadles far enough into the backfield for him to bump Kaepernick to the turf.
