An early look at the 2017 NO Saints free agents
For me resigning NICK FAIRLEY must become priority #1 this off season.

You say that and I gotta scratch my head...
What exactly are your expectations for a guy that makes a minimum with his experience? And contributes in several facets of the kicking game? And is playing the scatback role with four other running backs on the roster? Are you expecting him to perform like Sproles? If there were a better player who executed in practice as well as he does, don't you think he'd be playing ahead of Cadet? |

Speaking of ... Darren will be a UFA for 2017. Would you make the call? He is still highly productive and he knows this offense, Sean Payton and Drew Brees.

Maybe it's just me, but I'd like to see a change at the LS position; Practice Squad TE Garrett Griffin can also long-snap... Mauti is a fine player, but what will he be like even if he gets his gut healthy? Hightower is blocking Lasco's development - time to move on... Sterling Moore should be re-signed... Don't know if Lelito regressed or was injured in some way not disclosed, but I don't think we can re-sign him for what he may seek... Snead is a restricted free agent, do we run the risk of signing him to his tender? |
It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

I would let Lelito go if he wanted anything more than the absolute minimum. He just won't ever be anything more than a backup, and not even a really good one.

From Hightower or Lasco?
Maybe it's just me but I think Hightower has been an outstanding #2 back and can fill in for Ingram at a moments notice without much, if any, loss. At $840k, he seems like a pretty good bargain. |
