Ellerbe, when rushing the passer, technically was in a blitz, which is why he was effective...

Remembering back to Greggor's days: just because it's a blitz,that doesn't make it effective.

Well, it's also effective when Ellerbe is actually "available."

Man, you are so right! I have seen that man hit some players so hard that it's made me want to have his children right there on the spot. Unfortunately, I think those hits affect him worse than the other player. We do need him out there all the time and if not, then we need to find us someone who can be.

I think Anzalone is a great back up to Ellerbe. If we can limit Ellerbe's snaps he might make it through a whole season while Anzalone learns the ropes to take over for him down the road or step in if Ellerbe gets injured.(likely)
