Love the DT Woodrow Hamilton pick up

Here in NE he was PS most fans watch closely hoping and praying to be a diamond in the rough. showed some promise in 2016 and was in those players who might be set to make the jump to the 53 man roster in 2017. He was odd man out in the end because of over stock of talent rather than the lack of.

Good enough to be hyped as a solid possible rotational player in the NFL. an upside scout team punching bag with an attitude. Enough of a teaser but loaded with disclaimers.

NFL Media senior analyst Gil Brandt believes that Ole Miss DT Woodrow Hamilton's strong Pro Day "might make him a low-round draft selection or a priority free-agent pickup following the draft."
A right hamstring injury prevented Hamilton from running the 40-yard dash during Monday's Pro Day, but he managed to complete a number of other drills. Among his results, the 6-foot-5, 314-pounder raced through the three-cone drill in 7.90 seconds and logged a 4.80-second mark in the short shuttle. He also jumped 26 1/2 inches on the vertical and 8-foot-10 on the broad. Last season, Hamilton recorded 30 tackles (3.5 for loss) and a sack.

Hasn't Hodges has been more of an Outside (Weakside) Linebacker?

I think he's been the weak side ILB in 3-4 defenses mostly just like Craig Robertson or Dannell Ellerbe which should translate to the weak side LB in our defense.

Gerald is the slowest LB. putting him on the outside and goes against one of my personal thumb rule :D

Setting a hard edge is huge in funneling the play back into the middle LB. DE CB and OLB have to get the job done quickly. Thus speed on the flanks is key.

It has been proven wrong but in the case of Hodges I would test those coverage skills in the middle before out on the edges.

Klien is my man in 2018 to take over the middle. But I do not see it happening right now. maybe he better off at SLB.

God I love the chess game with all the new talent. so many combo possibilities.

So I read you right, you think Manti Teo has the job over A.J. Klein this season because he already knows Mike Nolan's system vs Dennis Allen's system?

Klein is playing all three downs for us while already wearing that green dot on his helmet...

In today's west coast passing league, you rarely see three true LBers on the field in a 4-3 front; it's more nickel, whether heavy (3 safeties) or traditional (3 corners)...

That's why I thought we should move Kenny V to more of that Rover Linebacker Role and quit stressing over finding a 6-3, 255lbs dancing bear...

Basically use the resources in house - a novel concept that I'm not sure Dennis Allen has come to grips, but with Mike Nolan, I'm hopeful...

This is a bigger loss than the average fan may realize as we're extremely thin at Linebacker and equally important on Kick Coverage after promoting Robertson...

We now only have three LBers which we broke camp with after losing Stephone Anthony (Traded), Alex Anzalone (Reserve, Injured), and Nate Stupar (Reserve, Injured)...
