It's also a lot like a musician (lots of traveling, away from home) or big-time architects and contractors (like at the level of skyscrapers and churches and stuff) who go for months at a time where ever the big site is. And trust me, any ex-NFL coach can land a smaller gig (college, high school) anytime. That type of experience is very much in demand.
Seriously? I could care less about their "mental and financial well being" they are shopping for million dollar homes as we speak. Their kids are probably legacies at whatever colleges their dads graduated from and will probably be able to go tuition free. There are tons of people I feel bad for but a bunch of NFL coaches I don't even know aren't very high on the list.
