J Peppers @ #11 ??
I'd rather have a stud DE in Derek Barnett, edge rushing freak in Solomon Thomas, Tak McKinley or Jonathan Allen DE Bama. But to stay on the posters topic, Reuben Foster IMO is the best LB in all of college football. Range ... check. Instincts ... check ... Coverage ability ... check. Football IQ ... check. RF is the real deal. I'd be elated if the Saints selected him @ 11. |

Re: CBS 2017 Mock Draft
I'm not sure. I like to see some of the combine stats, mostly the bench and cone shuffle ( quick feet) to be honest, I could care less about 40 time. I like a NT kind of short and heavy with a low center of gravity myself. The bench shows power only but if they can't bench 18 reps at 225 lbs. it tells me 2 things their weak or lazy and I move on.

Re: CBS 2017 Mock Draft
Rueben foster would be an immediate upgrade. Barnett or Thomas at DE same thing. One of these three and I will be happy.

Re: CBS 2017 Mock Draft
Don't like Derek Barnett as a first round pick; he's just another one trick pony...
Can't set the edge consistently as a 4-3 DE, as he's got a lack of length and strength... Reminds me of a poor man's Dwight Freeney, and I wasn't overly impressed with Freeney... Freeney struggled against Excellent to Elite Tackles and got his pass rush numbers in bunches... And has anyone here really looked at Barnett? his body type? Looks like a pear on chicken legs. And even if Barnett loses that belly before combine, will he keep it off as a pro? You really want that to be our first round pick at No. 11? No Thanks. |
It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

We will learn again what it is to have a 3-down linebacker, if he hopefully falls to us... My hope is that a new linebackers coach can get Stephone Anthony back on track... The linebacker play will improve if we can find a coach to have an impact like Aaron Glenn has had on the DBs... |

Re: CBS 2017 Mock Draft
Idk, i usually agree with your opinion of pospects JP but i dont see or agree on the "chicken legs"...sure he could always be in better shape but i love the upside of Barnett. Could use some polish just like every draft prospect but i like what i see. He's definitely a top 15 talent IMO. But hey i love the difference of opinions here, helps all of us to go back and take another look, which we'll have plenty of time to do so until draft day.
My top pick for the Saints at #11 is Foster....im pounding the table for him this year! He's one of the best LB's to come out in the last decade IMO. As far as ceiling/floor prediction, i'll go ahead and say at his best he's a Ray Lewis/Luke Kuechly type of player, Floor=CJ Mosley. I know its bold on the top end but he checks all the major boxes & im not overly concerned with any area of his game. Foster has every trait to be a game changer at the next level & thats exactly what this defense needs, regardless of position. With that said, i think Kiper, CBS & whoever else are crazy to have Him mocked to us at 11. It would require a trade up or the stars to align for us to land him there but boy would i be overjoyed if it happened. My top prospects at #11 at this time are: Reuben Foster Solomon Thomas Derek Barnett Big fan of Malik Hooker, Jamal Adams & Jonathan Allen as well but just dont see them being there after 10. Very interested to see how teams value these players this year. Hopefully theres a couple bone headed picks and a few QBs go top 10. |

Re: CBS 2017 Mock Draft
Reuben Foster would improve our front seven tremendously. As has been stated he is good in every facet of the game and very explosive at the point of attack. He is an automatic upgrade on day one. If he isn't there then I'm fine with BPA at a position of need.
