The answer to the question is no. Just no.
The Saints have a player in Ingram that accounted for 1300+ scrimmage yards, 1000+ yards rushing, and a 5.1 YPC. And that essentially in a platoon role because Payton and Carmichael do not know how to actually have a feature back in their offense. When you have a Top 5 offense and a bottom 10 defense, as always the focus for personnel should be on the defensive side of the ball. The only exception to this is a stud offensive lineman, such as a guard. And even then the numbers on the guy would need to be all world to consider in the first round. Think along the lines of Zach Martin for the Cowboys. We have already seen the formula for Superbowl success for the Payton regime. A Top 5 offense that rushes effectively and a mid pack defense that can rush the QB and take the ball away. Ingram and Hightower have two years of proving that they are an effective rushing attack. Defensively we really haven't seen either takeaways or sacks. So why is another running back even on the list? SFIAH |

Re: STANFORD RB McCAFFERTY
Why would we trade a proven player who has now learned not to tackle with his head for a mid round pick and a little boy like Peppers? His successes were from playing lower quality schools. He barely showed up against Wisconsin and tOSU. We need real linebackers and linemen!

Re: STANFORD RB McCAFFERTY
Would not consider KV over rated. He played really well last year considering we had no CB help. As for Peppers he could step in at that #3 safety on the field right away. I would trade back if he was the player I wanted. Dont see him going in the to 15. Just too many "ifs" on where he would line up.

Re: STANFORD RB McCAFFERTY
I think Kenny is just starting to play his best football. As others have said I think he was having a good season last year. Yeah he gives up catches sometimes but I disn't see him get targeted much and that leads me to believe he's not as bad in coverage as some of you think. He plays with attitude, has good range, starting to take better angles and tackle better. He was in on a number of turnovers last year too. I think it'd be a mistake to get rid of him now.

Re: STANFORD RB McCAFFERTY
FIRST ROUND SELECTION. I don't need anything else.
We need a play maker on DEFENSE that WILL CREATE MUTIPLE TURNOVERS who has NEVER BEEN HURT IN COLLEGE. POSITION DOESN'T MATTER. If he doesn't exist on defense, then get the BEST OFFENSIVE PLAYER THAT CAN PROTECT BREES in 2017 and EXCEL AT THE RUNNING GAME. |

Re: STANFORD RB McCAFFERTY
If he is really an elite talent, i.e., 4.4 40, strong, quick and fast, proveable at the combine proving worthy of pick #11. If there is anything that has been proven about the draft it is that you can't pick soley off of need. That type of thinking gets you Stanley Jean Baptiste instead of Jarvis Landry. If they think he's the best player available. Snag him. He'd look great in black and gold. One more thing. Am I allowed to say it'd be AWESOME to have a white tail back? OOPS!
