Re: STANFORD RB McCAFFERTY
The answer to the question is no. Just no.
The Saints have a player in Ingram that accounted for 1300+ scrimmage yards, 1000+ yards rushing, and a 5.1 YPC. And that essentially in a platoon role because Payton and Carmichael do not know how to actually have a feature back in their offense. When you have a Top 5 offense and a bottom 10 defense, as always the focus for personnel should be on the defensive side of the ball. The only exception to this is a stud offensive lineman, such as a guard. And even then the numbers on the guy would need to be all world to consider in the first round. Think along the lines of Zach Martin for the Cowboys. We have already seen the formula for Superbowl success for the Payton regime. A Top 5 offense that rushes effectively and a mid pack defense that can rush the QB and take the ball away. Ingram and Hightower have two years of proving that they are an effective rushing attack. Defensively we really haven't seen either takeaways or sacks. So why is another running back even on the list? SFIAH |
Super Bowl Championships: New Orleans Saints:1, Carolina:0, Atlanta Chokers: STILL ZERO
Only Atlanta choked in an unchokable situation... Life is definitely good. |
