This is Jason David all over again. Jason David was doing the same thing in that weak division of wr, people all praises til he got bombed on the 1st play. If you running a 4.6 you better have a top notch vertical close to 40. This guy vertical is 33. If they we're running similar schemes as patriots I'll be all for it but they're running a scheme similar to Seattle. Malcolm Butler is no Richard Sherman.

Loomis need to stop looking for the popular athletes. Do your job and let the scouts evaluate and you and Dennis Allen process what is needed

Aquib Talib, Ramsey, Xavier Rhodes

Jason David was a Cover 2 cornerback that we tried to make into a man corner. This is apples to oranges. We want Butler to do the same things he's doing in New England...things he's already good at.

He doesn't run a 4.6... When the Patriots had him in for a tryout as an undrafted free agent they timed him at 4.4.

Who did Xavier Rhodes shut down? Look at the Vikings schedule. Jordy Nelson shredded the Vikings, meaning he shredded Rhodes because Rhodes follows the #1 receiver.

Jalen Ramsey gave up around 800 yards this year on 14 yards a catch. He got better as the season went on, but he wasn't what I'd call shut down.

Aqib Talib was great, but he's not shutting down Julio Jones either.

Nobody is shutting down the top WR's consistently.

Loomis doesn't evaluate talent. Payton does. Loomis is the contract guy. Payton is the personnel guy. Get with it, swammi.

Jordy Nelson was injured, type the to secondary of 2016. A rookie, Ramsey I practically can't think of wr scoring on that kid

Of course Julio going to get his catches like all wr wil, but when it come to prevent a score or a 3rd and long 1st, I don't see Malcolm as being reliable

Malcolm Butler proves NFL scouting combine not only path to stardom

"It was Josh Boyer, the Patriots' defensive back coach. He could offer Butler a tryout the next weekend in Foxborough. The Patriots would fly Butler to New England, but Butler would have to sign a waiver in order to participate.
'I don't think he was even off the plane and on the ground for half an hour before they had him run the 40. And he ran a 4.4, and they called and said they were going to keep him,' Simpson said."

And that's the problem. He should have scouts to evaluate. Stop going after the popular cause most of them with good agents will have them on papa john commercials
