The new AP gets 5-6 carries per game until Ingram goes down for 3 games. I'll bet we get the same level of production from AP as we got from Hightower. |

Re: AP is close to deal with Saints
He was injured last year the year before put up what 1500 yards. Barring 2 season hit by injury his worst year is 970 yards in 12 games. Again except them two years he's never run was under double digit TDs. Ingrams never run for double dogit TD. Now he may be on the decline but Ingrams not exactly shown he can stay healthy,6 season only 16 games twice,13 games or under 4 times.

Barring injury, he's still a freak... and a highly productive one. This definitely would be an interesting signing.

Re: AP is close to deal with Saints
Time to draft defense if we sign AP that would mean we've saved a draft pick and still have Lasco. Gimme' an O-lineman and a WR in the first three rounds then go defense the rest of the way.

Re: AP is close to deal with Saints
I'm cautiously optimistic if this is true. Cautious because for this to work we have to commit to the running game (something Payton often struggles with) more than we have in the past. I've lost count of how many times we start out a game trying to run the ball and if it doesn't work after a few runs we just go pass happy.
Here's hoping we didn't sign him just for Drew to continue to drop back and throw 35+ times a game. |
