Exactly. Keep in mind that Michael Mauti is going through a grueling bout with an intestinal disease. He's lost a lot of weight, and as much as I hope he comes back full strength, there is no guarantee he'll even really make it back.

And Kikaha is coming off another blown out knee. So there's another question mark. Maybe the reason for drafting another LB is to make sure we have solid depth for ST and for backups in the event one or both of those guys (along with regular injuries) can't make it back.

And I don't think anyone needs to wonder about Ellerbe. Good hell, that guy is great when he's on the field.....it just isn't that often.

You mean Michael Mauti? He's been going through the intestinal disease?

Don't sleep on Kamara. If you follow Mayock, he had him going to the Packers in Rd #1. 39 inch vertical, runs very good routes and solid vision. In a way, reminds me of "Can't guard Mike Thomas" selection from last year. Played for a school that didn't fully use his talents 100%. Untapped potential and value. Could end up as a stronger, faster version of the great Pierre Thomas.

I think Sean Payton has a solid plan for him in this offense.

I heard quite a bit about Kamara over the past two weeks on NFL Radio. More than one analyst compared him favorably to Sproles without connecting him to the Saints. Beyond Ingram and AD we really didn't have another RB that I felt was able to contribute enough to warrant the roster spot. Kamara could be the piece to bring our offense back to the 2009 and 2011 levels.

Sitting here listening to Anzalones phone call into the Saints draft show. If nothing else he seems like a smart kid who definitely knows his football. Understands his strengths and weaknesses, but is willing to play wherever he is needed to the best of his ability.

I'm interested in seeing him on the field in the preseason!

Bump ...

Had to bring this thread back to life. I respect Mayock's scouting opinion and he hit this one on the head.
