Let's pick this apart one at a time. The answer to the first question is Murphy and Cadet. The Joker RB role was upgraded with the pick.
MIA had his first 1000 yard season but he stays injured.
Ingram played 16 games last season. The only injury report was a concussion and a toe after the Panther's game in November. He played the next week against the Lions. So how exactly is that "staying injured"?
Cadet just resigned
A one year vet minimum contract with $80K in guaranteed money. I'm sure Loomis can find that kind of change in his couch if Cadet needed to be cut.
and Lassco is only in his 2nd year.
Lasco's contract is worth less than Cadet's. Also I believe that Lasco is still eligible for the practice squad.
AP just signed a 2 yr deal
No. AP signed a one year deal and a one year team option that has no guaranteed money. If it doesn't work out AP can be let go next offseason and cost the team exactly $0 additional dollars.
and now we drafted a top 4 back in the draft.
A top 4 back with a 2nd round grade, in the 3rd round, with the purpose of upgrading Cadet.
Could MIA be a possible trade option? Trade him aft r his best season to get the max?
Not smart at all. BTW I see what you did there with MIA. Funny. Ingram is a productive back in the Saints offense at very reasonable contract numbers ($4 million/year). As you pointed out, the guy just had his best season.

I don't see why anyone would think it smart to get rid of your most productive back and leave an old geezer and a rookie in his place.

As Ingram himself pointed out, RBs sharing the carries is a Payton Saints' offensive hallmark. So having 4,5, or even 6 backs isn't the least bit out of the ordinary.

Everyone should read it for what it is: Cadet isn't Sproles or Bush. Kamara might be. The Joker is the kid's slot to take. Nothing more. Nothing less.

Super Bowl Championships: New Orleans Saints:1, Carolina:0, Atlanta Chokers: STILL ZERO

Only Atlanta choked in an unchokable situation... Life is definitely good.

Kamara is no joke. He could seriously be a major contributor like a James White and take over games if given enough touches. He did it in college against some decent teams.

I think that Lasco is safe simply because he has such a high value in ST plays.

Could end up as a stronger, faster version of the great Pierre Thomas.

I think Sean Payton has a solid plan for him in this offense.
Bump ...

Had to bring this thread back to life. I respect Mayock's scouting opinion and he hit this one on the head.
