this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Tony Romo was undrafted. Brees' heir could be out there right now waiting for us to call him. You never know....

Re: Drew and the 2017 draft
Danno, I like what you said. But please can we get a all defense draft next year.

Go back and look at previous years drafts and see how many defensive players we have drafted vs offensive. You may be surprised.
We have addressed just about every need on defense with the exception of a pass rusher maybe. Let the year plAy out and see how the defense does and at least get through free agency next year before you worry about next years draft. |

Re: Drew and the 2017 draft
There was no way in Hell we were drafting a QB. Drew said that we don't need one and I believe him.......also, I don't want to upset Drew. He was very specific about signing a one year deal to see if we fixed the defense.

Re: Drew and the 2017 draft
Sorry, but that was not why he signed the TWO year deal before last season. And he never said anything about defense being the reason. He said while he plans to play many more years (all with the Saints) he would like to have the flexibility to make a decision on continuing to play year to year without handcuffing the team. Peyton Manning, who had the same agent as Brees, did the same thing down the stretch. The big difference is that Manning suffered a debilitating injury while Brees is a healthy as most 25 year old QB's in the league today.
