For those that are too lazy to click the link and read the article:

On Wednesday morning, ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter joined Anthony Gargano on 97.5 FM The Fanatic, a commercial station that covers Philadelphia sports. What was said in regards to the wildfire that was Mark Ingram trade rumors between the New Orleans Saints and Philadelphia Eagles was quickly put out.

Schefter said this in regards to the speculation that started with a simple suggestion that escalated into a supposed real conversation according to Kyle Scott at Crossing Broad:

Let me tell you. Allow me to refute that right now and say that there is absolutely nothing to that. There was absolutely nothing ever to that. I spoke to people in both organizations and both had the same reaction: “We have never spoken.” So I don’t know where that started, and maybe that would start things up now? I don’t think so, based on the reaction that I got from both organizations, but that was never in the works.

Again, I don’t want to say it’ll never happen, because who knows. Strange things happen. But I’m just telling you there was absolutely nothing to that as of right now. I don’t expect there to be anything to come of that. So that’s where we’re at at that. Is that definitive enough?
Ingram looks to be a key part of the 2017 Saints offense, much like he’s been in the past. For whatever reason, silliness continues to follow Ingram.
I have pointed this very thing out several times here at B&G. DON'T BELIEVE WHAT YOU READ ON THE MEDIA HACK SITES! 90% of the time what is floating out there is based solely on speculation by people that have no clue. That is then shared by others equally clueless and finally read by gullible forum fanatics and taken as fact.

How do you not know this as a Saints fan? Obviously Reggie thought he was being replaced and that he was. He was traded that same year to the Dolphins. He could not be the every down back the Saints wanted him to be so they essentially drafted Ingram to be that guy. I think they signed Sproles because Brees wanted him on the team because he knew Sproles would fit perfectly as a pass catching back.
Ingram is not the style of back Reggie was. How does Ingram replace Bush when Sproles is exactly what Reggie was, but only better. If Ingram replaced Reggie then they would not have gone after Sproles. I mean they already had Ivory and PT.

I follow numerous football boards. Eagles fans continuously think their front office can somehow get players they want as fans by trading their castoffs. When Cooks was on the block, they thought Kendricks and a 5th would net Cooks somehow. They have some of the worst fans in the NFL.

I feel like every topic, given enough time will eventually devolve into a discussion about Mark Ingram, kind of like every argument eventually has a mention of Hitler

Yeah I remember reading somewhere that Ingram, even though he wasn't born yet, is entirely responsible for Hitler's rise to power.

And from what I heard, Ingram is also responsible for Hurricane Katrina and other natural disasters as well as a future apocalypse.
