It's a little bit complex. Fairley and Rankins both spent plenty of time lined up at the 1 and 3-techniques. In 3 man fronts Fairley played NT while Rankins was out at 5-technique. So there was a lot of scheme versatility that having Fairley and Rankins allowed us.
Davison has pretty strictly been used as a NT. I think Onyemata would be the more likely candidate to play a larger role due to his versatility. You could even line him up at strongside DE and kick Jordan inside next to Rankins if that gives a more favorable matchup. |
