If we can get lucky with a limited amount of injuries this season, I think this team is very capable of winning the NFC South.

:bng:

That's the equivalent of saying the Pats are no longer the SB champs or the day after we won our SB that we were no longer the champs. In all actuality until Sept. 11 we are 7-9

The Patriots are the 2016-17 Super Bowl champs. You are correct. But, at this point when addressing the upcoming 2017-18 season, they are 0-0 just like the Saints, and for that matter, the Browns.

Last season's franchise had vastly different coaching, different players and a different schedule. They were what their record said they were ... 7-9. The upcoming team has yet to play a game. They are also what their record says they are ... "to be determined" and at this point 0-0.

Can we field a team? Can we stay healthy?

The problem isn't three7-9 seasons......it's more like four out of the last five. And nothing really substantial for us to get excited about.

I love Payton and the coaching change along with the new personnel in the FO, but we need to start strong or finish strong to keep the fans happy.

And with us missing two of our offensive linemen I'm not excited bout our young defense having to win games because offense is losing in the trenches.

Don't forget the theme to last off-season was how horrible the offensive line was going to be and yet it managed to be rated as one of the best in the league. I am not concerned at all with the offensive line. Unger should be back and Armstead was playing injured through most of last season. We could legitimately see a better all round line this coming season even taking the injuries into consideration.

We are 7-9 until the first second comes off the clock upon kickoff. At that point all 32 teams are 0-0. History is made up of things that have occurred, not what could have occurred. Right now they are a 7-9 team and will be until the official start of the season. It's a burden you bear for being a loser just like the honor they carried after the super bowl.

Excuse us for tempering our enthusiasm but it's been the same set of "promises" "for the last 5 years.

You two keep living in the past. I look to the future. You dwell on the bad. I look forward to the good. You remember the recent mediocre past. I remember the Lombardi Trophy!

Go ahead and wallow in your continuous cesspool of negativity. Relish in it!

You are so sad.

The reality is that we fail in life despite our best efforts. When that happens you don't want to talk about your failure as if it is a success. You want to acknowledge how hard you fought and what you did better from the last time you failed. Then you want to work harder to succeed. Never has it worked to simply ignore your failures as if they don't exist. Doing that is delusional. You have to be honest with yourself so that you can improve. Some people on this board have an inability to do that and when others pull back that thin veil from their delusions they lash out.
