Benson treats Loomis and Payton like they are his sons. They can do no wrong. Maybe any other owner ... but, as has been pointed out many times here before, there is a completely different dynamic with those involved with the Saints than anywhere else. That is a fact. You see it all the time.

Oh, and Benson could put up FAR more than that in payroll and still be coming out in the black. The owners are supported off shared revenue. He can't help but make money off the team.

All revenues generated by merchandising are shared between 31 teams. Jerry Jones and the Cowboys opted out of the agreement. The broadcast revenues are shared equally. The Cleveland Browns are making money going 1-15.
