What I have learned is most people give doctors waaay more credit than they deserve and take their word as gospel. 8 times out of 10 I will listen to what the nurses and nurse practitioners before the doctor.

Having worked at a health insurance company for 17.5 years and having a wife who is an RN that has worked both in hospital risk management and as a malpractice claims adjuster for the last 30+ years, I can attest that more than just the nurses know the good ones from the bad ones. It is just that the information isn't readily available to your average patient.

My wife works in surgery (ER) and the local VA, when her mom needed surgery she was on the phone hand picking the whole operating staff. She might not pick me the good ones though. lol
