Re: How Bad Do You Miss Joe Vitt?
And now. Its time for My Opinions, with your host, Me.
1. America should officially de-recognize all races. Effectively tomorrow, all complaints regarding what color people are will be ignored. Everyone will be treated like everyone else, accordingly to how they act. 2. If you dont like statues, dont look at them. I dont like seeing your underwear. 3. Somewhere, someone is going to have vision loss due to the dumb Eclipse, which I have no interest, and they will blame someone one else for not properly informing them not to look at the Sun. 4. This is completely wrong: baloney. I'll never understand how anyone can not like preseason. Lives are changed by Preseason. Its new, exciting talent, or new-to-us talent, in live game situations, and every year players are chosen or cut by their preseason performance. Remember a camp body named Pierre Thomas? It is huge pressure, if you know what you're looking at. The ultimate sports reality show, and its FOOTBALL. You do like football, right? no clue. I dont speak all this new hip hop urban lingo. btw, Guido, you really should change your avatar to Walter Mathau. 5. I dont know the Manti GF story details, but I suspect its like the Rod Stewart sausage party story-- an tired urban legend, which just wont go away, due to the ease of its punchlines. This is America. Go on & Make jokes & look at eclipses; and run around with your drawers showing. Not hurting me none. 6. I know the Chargers are weak. They cant get up, because they play in a corporately named minor league soccer field. And soon, they'll play in a Disney-fied HomoDome. The Chargers will not win, until they move somewhere cold. BUT this is two weeks in a row, the Browns 1st 2 and Chargers 1st 3- were 3 and outs. The worst this can be is baby steps.... Last 3 years, even bad offenses torched us. Personally, I got a big Schwingy watching this game. 7. Kamara ! WOW ! 8. Manti v. Chargers WOW! And AK, and Michael Thomas. 9. I, for now, am not longer feeling like our OL is going to get Drew beheaded. 10. Im not a fan of making one guy your goat, but Grumpy Old Guido called it, a while back. The coaching staff changes are outstanding, and will make a difference. Nolan has this bunch looking really tight. Is everyone properly offended, yet? I can send you the # to my Concern Line. 11. WhoDat baby !!!!! To all my WhoDat Nation brothers & sisters everywhere. The only color that really matters to me, is our jersey. Cant wait for the Texans game. |

Don't think we need that here.
Which reminds me I need to shoot Halo a donation.

That's how it works in high school and college. Preseason is about money for owners.
But I have always said, and will always say that as long as we ARE playing these games, what the individual players do, matters. Not as much as in the regular season, because of competition factors, but we can at least form some general opinions on players when they really stand out, good or bad. I just posted something to this effect in another thread. |
If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.

Re: How Bad Do You Miss Joe Vitt?
Football is about money for owners. At least to the owners.
I see what you mean now. But I LOVE preaseason. Its like being a kid on december 23rd. You do know there used to be SIX preseason games? I've suggested this before, but here's my idea about preseason, and its brilliant. Play the preseason games in secondary cities, like we did in Shreveport and Jackson. The season tix holders dont have to pay for preseason games. I went to the last Shreveport game, it they treated it like a Super Bowl there, with a complete carnival all around it, and tons of hype. It was crazy and fun, and brought a lot of $$$ into town. It wasnt meaningless to those people. The Saints had come to their town. The team leaves with stronger fans, much like the old NFL barnstorming tours of the 30s. You need preseason, and all the Pierre Thomas's of football, the undrafted guys, the rehab guys, the waiver wire, practice squad guys-- would all tell you THEY need it. And the brilliant coaches who pick Marques Colston in the 7th round will too. And a whole lot of secondary cities, like San Antonio, Milwaukee, Jackson, etc. would jump at the chance to host an NFL preseason game. The teams grow a deeper bond w/ their distant fans. everybody wins. |
