The Saints are becoming a textbook example of why you don't hang onto a coach 3-4 years after he lost the team.

Why because he is tired of losing? Soon or later you have to open your eyes and see the game has passed SP up. It's time to move on. 3 straight losing seasons and now we start 0-2. Maybe you should get off your knees and realize you don't have to worship a subpar coach.

At the same time we hardly have any players left from 3-4 years ago. Its basically a new team since then.

Which points to coaching, positional coaches have been changed so SP, Dennis Allen and Loomis now need to go.

Not sure of your emphasis here.
Unless you are reaffriming the symptoms that were then, are still with us.

Sean Payton is toast. He's responsible and a big part of the problem. Firing anyone else on the coaching staff won't change anything. We aren't even competitive. I see a bad product on the field and it's only going to get worse. A new regime is needed before he ruins these young players on D.

Yep..put me down for, I am done with these clowns. Defense is gonna challenge our own record of being the worst. Offense looks out of sink. Its about that time.

Payton and Dennis Allen need to go for sure. Like..today.

I've never been a proponent of tanking but if we're going to continue to play this bad, we might as well keep them until the end of the season. At the same time, if we have any chance of turning it around, we're better off keeping them til the end of the season as well.

It's crazy how contradicting that is.

Re: Payton need to go?

We have things to build on. We CAN improve in the red zone. Not playing full offense at all in preseason hurt. We had turnovers called back. The plays and opportunities were there, we just didn't execute. We had every opportunity to win that. Yes Payton needs to go.

12 men on the field in 2 games, zero pass rush, run defense (I was roasted when I said we would miss Nick Fairley) has been poor last two games & the inability to set the edge. Inexcusable at this level.

Aren't we on the 4th or 5th DC in 10 years now ? Things won't change/improve defensively until Sean is no longer HC in New Orleans.

dizzle88 09-17-2017 05:24 PM

Re: Payton need to go?

One of the turnovers called back was when Brady recognised we had 12 men on the field and threw a random play to draw the penalty.

We didn't generate that turnover, brady lofted the ball on purpose.

So basically we should not care, stay with Payton and Brees just because and enjoy losing? What's wrong with wanting your team to get better? You act as if we owe them something for winning a game almost 10 years ago. I just don't get how you equate wanting drastic change to not being a real fan. Dude you suck. One more loss and you will disappear. I don't know why I bother with you.

not really, what we need to have happen is for us to win 3-5 games so it is blatantly obvious he needs to go. I am afraid 7-9 gets him back here again.

I bet SP will be successful somewhere else, but he is done here

Here is the really scary things about this year's 0-2 -

We have turned the ball over 0 times. No fumbles lost, no interceptions thrown. We also have never blown special teams coverage and given up a big return. So on the whole we are actually executing fairly well right now.

Despite all of this, it was obvious by midway through 3rd quarter in each game we were toast and out of the game, even with one of the best passers in the league.

It could real ugly real fast against a team that does force us to turn it over.

We rebuild like the way the panthers and bucs did. Get a new GM and a new idea here and hope it works. If it doesn't, then hopefully someone in the league will put the pressure on Benson(either one). Start with a younger energetic QB and become a run oriented team with money to pay for a couple of A type defensive players. If we cannot do this then someone needs to start studying some college course to be a saints GM so the suckage won't take that long.

Why should we continue 7-9 seasons? It's more depressing because we are holding back potential legends. If Brees was not on the team the losing seasons will be easier to swallow because at least we can't say we have someone on our team who deserves more wins than players on the other three teams.

I haven't disappeared in 50 years, "Dude". I've been there week in week out pulling for my Saints. I know there is nothing I can do personally, or any of you either, to improve anything. I never leave my Saints.

I haven't changed from any of my view points in the offseason. It's just the offseason was so full of let's not be negative hoopla on this forum that it became hard to express concerns over stuff from last season. Once the season starts, you see everything loud and clear. But this time I'm looking at every snap and I am seeing for myself how awful everything looks.

I think it's the other way around. I think if Payton stays Brees will seek employment elsewhere. He doesn't have the luxury of waiting for Payton to stop doing the same **** year after year. Drew needs to be with a coach who will let Drew make some decisions on the field.
I have also sensed their relationship souring over the past couple of years. He used to stay quiet when Payton would call something he didn't like. I've seen them get into it on the sidelines a couple of times the last couple years. There is only one common denominator on the field now and his name isn't Drew.

He's got some left in the tank and with a decent line and coach who will commit to the run he could last a lot longer.
I did love the run game today.

This win today didn't change my mind. I am extremely disappointed in the front office and the coaching. The cap hits from all these celebrity FA signings have been out of completely out of control. Who makes these decisions? Is it Payton and Loomis? Does our scouting suck? Here are some recent names living in infamy: Jairus Byrd, Champ Bailey, C.J. Spiller, Brandon Browner. Wow.
