Not saying they aren't, but I doubt they'll be as effective against the Saints.

Same place that Miami has to play. It may be more disruptive to Miami than the Saints.

Hey, I tried to make it a positive thread. Came up with a decent plan of attack. But feelings are still raw. I get it. Everyone is entitled to there opinion.

And that means what? They faced two of the weaker teams in the league and we faced two of the better teams in the league.

You can't seriously think it's normal to allow over 1000 yards in two games and 65 points, no matter who you play that is historically bad!

No. Not normal. But I seriously do not think this defense is "historically bad". A ****load of new players facing two tough challenges right off the bat. Part of a rebuild is gaining your feet.

when did Minny, who did not even make the playoffs last year, get anointed to one of the better teams in the league? If we cannot play with the good teams how can we be considered a good team? And if I go with your idea that we played two of the better teams in the league and they played two of the worst, and we got destroyed by those two teams wouldn't that make us one of the bad teams in the league? What does that mean for us verse the Panties?

I want to support this, and because I'm optimistic by nature I'm climbing on board this wagon with you, but it's a bumpy road and I hope I don't fall off...

Re: Ok..On to The Pathers

Even if we did play "two of the better teams" in the league, we were not even competitive in either of those games. Those two teams had us beat by half time. Therefore, there is no justifying our bad start, we just have a bad team. 4 years of the exact same stats and same patterns do not lie.

Re: Ok..On to The Pathers

The Vikings were a disappointing 8-8 in 2016.
The Pats were without key cogs on offense AND defense.

IMO, two very winnable games for the Saints. Enough with the excuses.

Find a way to beat Carolina at their house on Sunday.

It is good you don't think that. The unfortunate reality is the 1000+ yards tends to disagree with you.

Maybe that all changes.

Sorry, but your logic is faulty. Read back through and you'll catch where you went wrong. At least I hope you do.

Fine. You give up and wallow in self pity. I'm going into this coming weekend excited and ready for a great run!

So you think we suck. Right? Well ... no matter how much you ***** and moan the next game will be what it is. For myself, I'm going into it just like every game for the last 50 years. We're going to win.

I know you though, before that game you will post at least 100 posts lamenting about everything that is wrong and how the franchise is doomed.

I love you, Spike!

I'll say this about the defense. -not so much as an excuse, but something to factor in all the minutiae of the miserable start...

We've got Delvin Breaux, Trey Hendrickson, Stephone Anthony, Ken Crawley out and are starting two rookies in Anzalone and Williams...

I like where we are now compared to the past three seasons at this time...

Re: Ok..On to The Pathers

For some reason, this feels like a win. Carolina is looking sluggish right now and the saints do play better defense there than at home against them. If the offense shows up, or stays competitive(which needs to happen), we can win this.

McCoy and Hyde have no passing game for the defense to respect.

Ok..I will give you that one. But, does it seem the first 2 teams we played were scared of anything we were going to do? Didn't appear so to me.

Im not trying to be positive or negative. That is never my focus. Im just being honest about what I see. That is my goal, nothing else. The rest is in your own head.

I see fourteen games left on the schedule with perhaps the toughest two behind us. I see getting Snead, Armstead and Strief back after the fourth game. Do I wish we could have drawn the cupcakes that Carolina and Atlanta drew the first two weeks of the season? Yes, but we didn't. But I see a more favorable schedule the remainder of the season.

I can be as big a cheerleader as the next guy but I don't think I'd call Aaron Rodgers in Lambeau a "cupcake".

Ok, that game not quite a cupcake, but it wasn't in Lambeau. It was the first game in Atlanta's new stadium.

Oh yeah, you're right, my mistake. But the point still stands. Green Bay is hardly a cupcake.

I def think Payton should commit more to the run now more than ever. We have talent and depth there. It will take pressure off Brees. They haven't even had a chance to get a rhythm. Yes it will be hard to run behind our line but we have the backs to do it. Might as well feed it to AP until his knees blow out.
