It will be a long time before this team sees another QB like him, if ever (Dan Marino and Dolphins is a good example). Look at what happened with Hoyer and Osweiller. Green Bay is the outlier.

I doubt it. They just want to give fans more to read about than how much we suck. He never talks contract during the season and the way this season is going, especially with the lack of protection or running game to take pressure off. I think it would be dumb for him to do so. UNLESS it has just become all about the money now and less so about the team and winning games.
I would put money on him not resigning. Especially if Payton is still here.
I do agree he is our best option. Nobody is going to come around that is any better in the near future.

I much prefer not having to worry about the QB position right now like we did in the days of Scott, Douglas, Wilson, Todd, the 2 Billy Joes and the lists goes on. We had one of the best defenses in the league with the Dome Patrol but still would lose because we didn't have a QB and offense. No disrespect to you but I just don't understand the willingness to want to let go one of the greatest Saints players ever unless he wants to leave which I doubt.
He's not performing at an elite level. I don't want him to go but it's time to find his replacement and now. That doesn't mean cut or trade him, that means find someone now who is the future and let him sit and learn. If Drew decides to return.

I thought you said he is definitely going to be on another NFL roster next season and are willing bet on that fact. Have you changed your mind?

Lol our new coach? You know if Drew stays, Sean stays.

If we don't make the playoffs, it's time to move on. Four years is enough.

Re: Saints & Brees chatting about $100 million extension

Is it time to sign Drew and invest the picks in the first on a QB with the idea of trading Drew down the road if the ship does not right itself? It may take more than one first round pick over the years or just getting lucky

Could you live with Saints loading up on QBs in the draft?

Round 1
Mason Rudolph, QB Oklahoma State 6036 235 4.77 #2 Sr

or

Luke Falk, QB, Washington State 6032 214 4.87 #4 rSr

and later

Baker Mayfield QB Oklahoma 6002 220 4.64 #6 rSr

or

Keep an eye on the draft stock of
Nick Fitzgerald QB, Mississippi State 6042 227 4.68 #7 rJr

Know trading them is always an option never off the table. You are not married to these picks unless they are the answer. Pull a Pats stunt if not

Let the hunt begin and try to pull a Brett / Payton move down the road?

It's simple!! Ask "Cleveland, San Francisco, Jacksonville, Houston......."

Payton's an offensive genius! Just ask him!
