Kyzir White ... he's an enforcer that's for sure.

Kyzir White SS/OLB West Virginia 6025 215 4.56 #8 Sr

A true hybrid safety-linebacker. White is one of the most physically imposing safeties in the country with his long arms and a linebacker’s mentality. His role at West Virginia is not traditional. He plays as a "big nickel" player, spending a lot of time in the slot or off the edge as a pseudo-linebacker. He fits the new breed of safeties that fits what NFL defenses need to combat offenses looking to create mismatches with running backs and tight ends in the passing game. White possesses quick awareness and has the range to cover in space, but also can be assigned gap responsibilities closer to the line of scrimmage, while being able to cover both shifty and larger targets in the passing game. If you want a player who can defend the run and be an enforcer near the line of scrimmage, White can be that type of player. White doesn’t spend a lot of time on the deep end of the field, so if he can prove himself in that regard at the Senior Bowl in January it will go a long way toward his draft stock. I bet he may be seen as a linebacker down the road. He is one of the more intriguing players at his position in the draft class. His coverage skills have improved by leaps and bounds this year.

Heep an eye on

Fred Warner OLB BYU 6025 228 4.68 #4 Sr
Skai Moore LB South Carolina 6021 218 4.65 #10 Sr

Thomas Davis

Do you think the saints will go TE in round 1?
A more traditional TE at that?
I would be shocked.
not like that has not happened before

That’s just kind of the way that particular mock draft fell. It’s going to be tough snagging one of the top TE’s in the draft without a 2nd round pick. I’m not sure if Gesicki or Goedert will last until the end of the 3rd round. Maybe Fumagalli, but I don’t want to move off taking Kyzir White in the 3rd.

All of this could just be solved by signing Cameron Brate in free agency.

Re: 2018 NFL Draft Prospects - Saints

Mel Kiper’s latest mock draft released today has us taking...

27 New Orleans Saints Courtland Sutton, WR, SMU
Drew Brees is 39, and the Saints just made a playoff run with one of the most productive rookie classes in recent history. This is a team built to win right now. Sutton is a huge 6-4 matchup nightmare who could play opposite budding superstar Michael Thomas. He was inconsistent at times for the Mustangs, but he's a big play-threat who averaged at least 16 yards per catch over the past three seasons. New Orleans could have some receiver turnover with Brandon Coleman and Willie Snead both restricted free agents.

With all the traditional TE in the draft I would be some what shocked if the saints went this route.

Later in the draft round 5 or so i still like

Marcus Baugh TE Ohio State 6041 250 4.84 #85 rSr

Courtland Sutton, WR, SMU? Drew throws to spots and Sutton is not the most disciplined route runner by any stretch of the imagination.

I am thinking more on the lines of a saints short at 27 will look like this for the saints

Mason Rudolph, QB Oklahoma State 6036 235 4.77 #2 Sr
He needs to sit and learn. I see another first round rush on QB again this year. He might be great trade bait also.

Da’Ron Payne DL Alabama 6012 308 5.38 #94 Jr
What a show he was allowed to put on in the playoffs. Saban made this kid some serious money

Christian Kirk WR/KR/PR Texas A&M* 5106 200 4.39 #3 Jr
SP loves his toys but does he fall into the Cooks trap once again? I like Kirk more than Cooks coming out of college.

Sam Hubbard SDE OSU 6045 265 4.86 #6 rJr
DE is still up in the air and he is a beast against the run with solid gap responsibility as a pass rusher. He is not going to speed rush anyone. He will swim and stunt them to death. Which I like. I hate wide swooping DE pass rush. They miss and they are out of the play all together. They end up selling popcorn in the stands.

Saints will replicate 2017 draft's success.

See who falls to #27 & take the best player available :bng: .
